Can I See The Castle Interior w/o CRT?

We don't have a CRT seating, but can I peer in and see what Cinderella's Castle looks like on the inside? I'm assuming the greeting podium for the CRT host is located somewhere inside the castle.

Separately, is there a standby line for same-day CRT?

There is a walkway through the lower level of the castle. You can walk through that, and "see" the inside of it. There isn't a whole lot to see there, so if you are expecting to see an elaborate castle, you may be a bit disappointed. The dining room at CRT is much more elaborate, and looks like you are in the castle, but as far as I know, the only way to see the inside of the dining area is to have a meal at CRT.

As far as walk up, well, I suppose anything is possible, but I would say the odds are very slim, and I certainly wouldn't bet on it happening. It is one of the most popular ADR's in all of Disney World.

Also, the walkway is actually a breezeway that goes from the front to the back of the castle, it's not "inside".
There are mosaics to look at. Sometimes you can't go in the front and walk through, the front is closed often. You can walk in and look at the mosaics.
You check in for CRT on one side and BBB on the other. But both are outside

I have vivid memories as a kid of being so disappointed that all you could do is walk through a tunnel under the castle. Therefore, I viewed CRT as a must do for my first trip as an adult, and it was totally worth it, even though we had to do a much later time than I would have liked. (I had no idea about 180 day booking for our first trip, and we booked our trip about 120 days out. There was no Touring Plans reservation finder back in 2011!)

Plus, I think the most interesting things to look at are the mosaics in the breezeway and you can see those without an ADR. Take time to walk around and explore those for certain.

Unfortunately, WDW didn't add a cool story / artifact type walk through attraction like DL has in the Sleeping Beauty castle.

Keep watching for cancellations in the days leading up to your trip.

CRT is prepaid, so:

1) people don't no-show but
2) people do cancel

I was disappointed with the inside of the castle. Think medieval times not Cinderella. Lots of brown and really dark.

I did it once (CRT) with each daughter and done.

There was more of the castle that was accessible 40 years ago. I remember, and have family pictures of, my older brother and I walking around the outside walls/parapets of the castle in the '70's.If you walk around the outside castle you can still get an idea of how you went up and walked around. But, IIRC, you walked up around and won without going into the castle. Those were the days of lighter crowds, E-ticket booklets, and less diligent liability attorneys.

Sleepy Beauties castle at DL (though very small) is actually a walk-through "dark ride" attraction. It's fantastic (and was upgraded late last decade to have a lot more interactive features). But most people walk right by without ever knowing to go in (despite signage).

When you walk through the Castle,there is a locked door on the right side-when this door is opened it reveals an elevator that goes up to Cinderella Castle Suite-the Suite is the most interesting part of Cinderella Castle-I got to see it on a Passholder Tour and I wish they would let regular Guests tour it from time to time.
