Can I rent out one night of my reservation?

I have a reservation for 12/21-12/24 in a studio at the VWL. I borrowed points to make this reservation. I found a great airfare and I am planning on coming back a day early.

Can I rent out the night of the 23rd, if anyone wants it, without losing my reservation for the 21st and 22nd? How would I go about doing that?

You'd better check with MS. It sounds like you want to divide your 3 nite stay into 2 separate reservations- which could involve cancelling and rebooking the last nite. Since that time period probably has a waitlist, you might not be able to get the one night back as a rental.

If you keep it as one reservation, you could have it cleaned for your renter but would also need to make sure that your check-in information is not sustained on the reservation and that your renter would need to go thru the check-in process separately.

Before doing anything regarding a renter, you should be certain that MS will handle the entire transaction as you'd want it.

Thanks Doc! I was thinking this might not work. I guess I should probably just cancel it and try to rent the points. I just thought since this was a popular time, I might be able to help someone out who needed to add one night on the front or back of their ressie.

I don't believe you can rent borrowed points. I think we ran into that problem a couple years back. Check with someone who knows for sure.

Sure you can rent borrowed or banked points. I know some have had trouble breaking up existing reservations into two separate reservations but others have been successful. One may be able to accomplish the same thing if the specific day in question is available to be booked separately. Dropping a day at either end of the reservation is usually no big deal unto it's self though.

I am going to drop that night and try to pick up one night for my October vacation. If not, I will use it next summer. I was thinking of adding on some points next Jan or Feb and I can use them for my summer trip to Disneyland.
