I want to rent points for a cruise vacation. Can I use dvc points to do this and how do I find out how many points to buy?

It is allot cheaper to pay cash and book your cruise.I have points and I rent them out and use the money to book my cruise. Good luck

Plus, once the points are used to cruise, if there was a cancellation, they would no longer be eligible for booking DVC rooms so it might be difficult even to find a DVC owner who would want to enter into that situation.

As others have mentioned, it is not cost effective to use points for a cruise for a renter.

There's absolutely no advantage that I can think of to justify doing that. It would be more expensive than just directly booking a cash reservation, and no special perks since it would seem you're not a member anyway. If you ARE a member, you'll get member perks even on a cash reservation. We take the same approach that mikeysgirl does, too ... rent out points and use the money for a cash reservation.

Just pay cash. It takes a whole lot of DVC points to cruise.
