Can I Really Keep My Mouth Shut For The Next 6 Months? Update 6/4 Link to TR

Aww! I love your goodie bags and treats for the kids! I can definitely see their personalities shine through the choices of gifts so far! ;) Way to go!

Thanks, I guess you can tell who's into Cars and who's into Toy Story, lol. The boys room is a mix of both, Ben has Cars bedding, posters and accessories on his side of the room and Sam has Toy Story stuff on his side. And of course Emily is into anything princess and pink:lovestruc

I am totally in love with your theme night ideas, you go all out! Enjoyed the mini tr from last time. And love the pictures all the way through. Can't wait to read more...

:welcome: Thanks so much for reading! I am a little obssessive about picture taking and now that I have a new camera I'm even more so, so I appreciate you enjoying the pictures! We have no movie night this weekend and I feel a little lost, is that weird? LOL

What great idea...I may have to steal the idea and us it as "fun" Christmas present. My kids usually get 3 presents from us (like Jesus got)...the gift of clothes, the gift of education, and the gift of fun....in addition to Santa's present and stocking. I am trying to figure out how to work this next years Christmas.

After only 1 week of movie night my kids were so disappointed that I was gone yesterday (Saturday) for an all day scrapbook crop...they wanted to know when we were going to do movie night if I was gone and I told them not this weekend...talk about disappointment, so we are in the mist of this weeks dinner and movie, but on Sunday rather than Saturday...:rotfl: So a can imagine your families disappointment, because they have been doing this longer than mine!

I am just loving your Disney Treat bags, Great idea!!!!

I see that some one shops at Target.:lmao: Just love the dollar spot!!!

I bought a few things for Liam, not as much since it is only a 2 1/2 hour flight. But he will have his DSi, a Star Wars coloring book, crayons, and his MP3 player loaded up with some great Disney Toons. Probably get some more but looking for some stuff he will like at the right price. :)

Yay for another movie night, which one did you do?

A whole day of scrapbooking? You are a lucky woman, I could only dream of doing such a thing. I still haven't finished my scrapbook from our last Disney trip:scared1:

Who doesn't love Target?:worship: That dollar spot gets me in trouble every time:rotfl: I seriously need to chill with the shopping but I just keeping finding things, I think the trick is to stay away from Target and Michaels until my trip! Of course the Disney Store is ok, lol. I got the $20 off a $40 purchase coupon when I pre ordered Tangled that is just itching to be used. I am going to try to be good and just get a few things for Easter baskets with it!

I've got the same coupon and I know what you mean. I have been making constant stops there since I got the coupon tring to device the best way to save some money on stuff we need for our trip. (I am walking the mall every other day for exercise and pass the store 2-4 times:scared1:) Liam really needs some summer pj's but there is a shirt there that I want so bad. It's a great deal at $30 when it was originally $60. OK, I admite I am trying to justify buying it.:rolleyes1

Ok, since you fessed up I will too, there are a couple of tees I've been eyeing for myself at the Disney Store too!;) I am one of those moms who never buys stuff for herself but is always buying stuff for the kids. Believe it or not when my DH is with me is when I usually buy things for myself because he makes me! So maybe on Friday when my DH is off work we'll take a ride over to the Disney Outlet:thumbsup2

So as you know I am TRYING to keep the trip a secret. Still not sure when we are going to tell the little ones yet. I was set on doing it a month out around Easter but my DH and DS15 are really pushing for us to do it on the day we leave. But I'm thinking we'll surprise them the night before we leave with a Walt Disney World theme night. My MIL and DN will be here so we'll all get to surprise them. Only thing about that is how I will put together a theme night with all the stress of getting things done for the trip:eek:

So the kids know we are going to WDW in 2011 but they just don't know the month and date right? They keep guessing, Ben says June because they'll be out of school, Emily says September (because it's her birthday month) and Sam says May, he says that he wants to go to SWW;) I just keep saying we'll see and I'm not sure when. I have this little Christmas tree that I left up after Christmas and have been decorating with the different holidays, we did Valentines Day themed, St. Patrick Day and now Easter. When we were decorating the tree with the little egg ornaments Sam asked what the next holiday was. I said I guess flowers for Spring. He then went over to the calendar in the kitchen and looked to see if there were any holidays in May. That's when he sees the little tiny smiley face I put in the corner of the 26th. He asked me what the smiley face was, I said I didn't know. He then asks, is that when we are going to Disney? What?:scared1: I said I didn't know what the smiley face was:rolleyes1 I thought he had let it go and then a few days later he show my DH the calendar and asks if that's when we are going to WDW. DH was at a loss for words:rotfl: He looks at me like  I quickly changed the conversation. He has sinced asked Christian if he knows anything about the 26th, lol. So Sam may be on to us, all over a tiny little smiley face that I thought I could get away with:)

Isn't the 26th "Jessica's birthday and you had to mark it so you'd remember"? :confused3:lmao:

"Jessica" makes a lot of appearances in my house. "No, I'm not buying that for sister's birthday, its for Jessica." :lmao:

They've accepted the fact that I have a "friend" named Jessica whom they've never met. :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl:Yep, kids are so much smarter then we give them credit. I caught my dd looking over my shoulder the other day when I was making a touring planning...thank goodness I only wrote the day (30th...not December 30th).

Hmmm...I bet if we put our heads together we could help you come up with an easy Disney theme night! Maybe the day of the day before your trip you could decorate the tree with the disney heads from Home Depot...so when they come home from school they see it?

It was finally nice to have a day to scrapbook to myself...trust me it seems that I always pay for these days (usually every few months), put it on the calendar, remind dh...and I still have to cancel because he forgets and schedules something else...this time he was threatened with an inch of his life not to make other plans. :rotfl2: I did get our cabin album caught up. In my next house (yes, I am dreaming) I am going to have a scrapbook room, so I can leave stuff out and work on it...it is just too hard to have to get it all out and put it all away, so I never get anything done in my albums unless I can go to a crop!

Jessica! What a great idea, why didn't I think of something like that? I am so going to use that one. I did something similar at Chrismtmas time when Sam saw through a TRU bag and saw the Lego set I had bought. When he called me out on it I fibbed and told him that it was for his cousin's b-day. Then a couple of weeks later we went over my aunt's house and he asked his cousin where the Lego set was, lol. Thankfully the cousin is older and caught on quickly;)

I like the idea of decorating the tree Disney themed, if I get enough energy I may dig out a few of our Disney ornaments that aren't Christmas related and I could wrap the tree in some Disney ribbon. I wonder how long it would take them once they got home to notice the tree, sometimes it takes a while for my kids to catch on, lol. 2 weeks after our goldfish died my 15 yr old went to feed it, he never realized it wasn't in the aquarium anymore, lol. An aquarium that he passes a couple dozen times a day, lol.

Hopefully you will get your scrapbook room someday. When we win the lottery I've already planned for a craft room in my dream house :rotfl:

Our second day at Magic Kingdom starts off with our long awaited BBB. I have been waiting to do this with Emily since her first visit! After a quick breakfast in the rooms we will head over to MK for Em's 8am appointment in the castle! We are doing the basic package of nails, hair and make up. I have already gotten her a new Cinderella dress for the occasion but we will have her other princess dressses with us if she decides she wants to be someone else. Everyone is planning on coming along for the appointment but I know we all can't fit in there so my only concern is what do DH and the boys do while they are waiting? I'd also like to do the photo session for her so if RD has come by that point maybe I'll send the guys to do a ride while we are there.

After that we will probably do Fantasyland again, hit up our favorites and then make our way over to Liberty Square. Time for one of my favorite rides, The Haunted Mansion, believe it or not but none of my children have ever been afraid of the ride. Sam loves it, him and Emily know every word to Grim, Grinning Ghosts thanks to a CD in my car that they make me constantly play while driving. At this point depending on how hungry we are we may have an early lunch at Columbia Harbour House as DH loves the fish here. Hall of Presidents will be done if we are good on time and DH wants to nap;), we did this last trip and the kids actually liked it so it although it's not a must do, it's a maybe do.

Our next stop is Frontierland for the ever important mountains. Ben has said he will be riding them this year so I am quite excited:cool1: I love rollercoasters and have seemed to pass this love down to all of my children but Ben. Thanks to his new obssession with You Tube Ben has watched countless videos of WDW rides and has stated that he is ready try out some new rides. Still can't convince him of TOT, RRC or EE but theres always future trips! Because of Ben's mobility issues in the past I have never taken the kids over to Tom Sawyer Island so I'd like to do that if everyone is in agreeance. If lunch was not done at the Columbia House we will probably have it at Pecos Bills.

Next over to Adventureland. Here we'll ride POTC, hopefully get to do a pirtae tutorial with Captain Jack, Sam loved this last trip. I debated on doing the Pirate League with the boys, I don't think Ben would like it all and I thought Sam would but when I showed him pictures of it he said no. So no Pirate League. We'll also ride the Jungle Cruise and Aladdin's Magic Carpets before heading to my favorite place in Adventureland. Any guesses?.............. Aloha Isle for what may possibly be my alltime favorite sweet treat,The Dole Whip Float:lovestruc Is there anyone who doesn't love these? And if so what the heck is wrong with them?:rotfl:

When we are done our Dole Whips we will have completed our touring of MK :( I haven't put in a break for this day but one will always be welcome if the family wants to go back to the resort for a swim and rest. ADR's for this day are at 1900 Park Fare at 6:30. Crossing fingers that my little princess will get to dance with her prince again:cloud9: After dinner we can go back over to MK to enjoy some rides and watch Wishes or go back to the hotel for a night swim. The next day we actually get to sleep in a bit :scared1: so we don't have a great need to make it an early night.

Basic Plan for the Day

6:30am - Wake up and breakfast in room
8:00am - BBB
9am - 6pm - tour the parks, have lunch at Columbia Harbour House or Pecos Bills
6:30pm - ADR's at 1900 Park Fare
10pm - MK closing time

Goals for the Day

Ride the mountains with Ben
Meet Tiana and Neveen
Pirate Tutorial

What a precious picture of Emily dancing with Prince Charming! Last summer my ***'t principal and I stopped in and watched the little girls doing BBB...priceless. My dd would have never gone for this, not much of a girlie girl...I had mentioned it to her about doing it now that she is 14...I got the typical roll of the eyes! Now my boys, they so want to do the pirate makeover, but there idea would be for the complete skull face and there is no way this mom is walking around the Magic Kingdom taking pictures with them looking like this! :rotfl:

I am hoping this is the year my 2 oldest will get my love for roller coasters and ride with me...I know they will do the ones at WDW...but I am talking the serious ones at USO/IOA! I so love coasters! Last time we were anywhere with serious coasters it cost me $25 to get ds#1 to ride the steel eel at Sea World San Antonio!

That is so funny, at our house it is a boy and his name is George (I have 3 boys and 1 girl) but I think that my oldest might be catching on. There is only so many times that you can say that I bought that toy for George only for him or his brother to open it up later.:lmao: But than I tried to tell him about Santa Clause this last year (he's gonna be 9) and he still went on believe him.:rotfl2:Maybe he just wants to make sure that he gets those Santa presents.:thumbsup2

I have so enjoyed reading everyone's posts. I have been away from the board for quite awhile. I am use to doing the planning in our family. My DGD is seven and we have gone every year since she was born. Last year, twice Before her, usually every two or three years when my kid were small. She is my biggest excuse for going when I get the usual " ur going again" look from friends. Need some advice from my dis friends out there. Months ago my kids asked what I wanted for my 60th. ( July 4) ( as if they didn't know) . I told them I wanted the entire family to go to DW including my mom, sisters, etc. and I left it at that.
No other discussion has been brought up. Twice now I have intercepted mail from DW travel ( You know the one with the monorail on the envelope. ) Now being the planner I am, I recognized it right away and put it back in the mailbox for someone else to get. Here's my problem. Guess we are going and I don't want to ruin the surprise, BUT, who is making the ADR's, did they book the Poly ( my fav but too expensive now adays) Did they remember to ask everyone? I am going crazy and have absolutely no one in the family to confide in because I will blow the whole thing. Need someone out there to give me a shout out if you have been in this situation. I am most grateful for whatever the trip may bring BUT I am also such a Disney Planning fool.
Micro manager is an understatement.:cheer2:

Thank you, we loved our dinner at 1900 Park Fare, the characters there never disappoint! I really am looking forward to BBB, I have to admit though that I am hoping Emily chooses the tame bun hairstyle rather than the other 2 that are a little too wild for me:confused: And I know what you mean about the Pirate League, I think that if Sam were to change his mind and want to do it that he'd want the full make up and then 20 minutes later he'd want us to scrub it off, lol.

My DS15 has always loved roller coasters, thats probably because DH and I never gave him a choice to try it out. That's probably some bad parenting there but we always like our kids to at least try something once and then if they don't like it fine they don't have to try it again. Thankfully Christian loves them. We have always gotten season passes to Six Flags so he's always wanted to ride the coasters as soon as he was tall enough. Sam is the same way, he can't wait to ride RRC and Emily is mad because she's too small. We got Ben on TOT last trip and he said never again, lol. But at least he's willing to try some new things this year! I hope you can get your kids on the rides at USO/IOA, you'll love them!
