Can I "pre-pay" dinner at CG?

Okay, first a little background info .... My daughter & her boyfriend met last year during their WDW college program - both were captains on the Friendship boats :boat: - and have been together ever since. My daughter has graduated but DBF has one more year of college so they still won't be living in the same city for a while.
This summer they had the chance to live rent-free (yay!) in the Keys :beach: with 3 other former CPs. Found great jobs at a resort there, Little Palm Island. They also all stayed on with Disney as 'seasonal' ~~ they had such fun driving the boats & being together.
So, next week they're going up to Orlando to work and play for a few days and to celebrate my daugher's birthday :bday: DBF has secretly gotten tickets for La Nouba since they've never seen that before.

SO, now for my question ~~~

I made birthday evening reservations for DD and her BF at CG pixiedust: and I want to pay for their dinner. That's where they celebrated last year. Do you think I can call CG directly and arrange for them to charge my cc for dinner? They took my card info for the guarantee when I made the reservation but Dining had no idea if the dinner could actually be charged completely to my card.
Has anyone ever done this? and Do you think I could actually get through to anyone at the CG to make these arrangements? I would really like to do it this way so they don't have to worry about anything that evening.

Any advice / hints would be appreciated. Thank you :)

My DD paid for my DH and my 25th anniversary dinner for us without my knowing, but she didn't do it until the evening we were dining. She called the restaurant directly and spoke to one of the managers on duty. When the CM brought us our check, the manager came out as well to tell us that dinner was on "the kids" (she charged it to her card, but her siblings contributed). It was a very nice surprise for us. And, that is how she did it.

Can't really help you out with your original question other than to suggest a prepaid credit card they could use to pay for the meal.

But Little Palm Island? My dad and stepmother lived on the Keys for lots of years and they loved that place. They only went there when someone else was paying for it. It's awesome! Gosh, they will probably make more money from tips than salary.

I would think as with any restaurant, you can call directly, give me the reservation no...or last name, whatever, to identify your party and then give your credit card number to pay for the meal.
We have done this before for our children, not at Disney, but at other restaurants....

I know ... LPI is pretty amazing! They all really enjoy working there - most of the guests (and the tips!) are great.

Carol, thanks for your info. That's exactly what I was looking for ~ to know that someone had actually done that at CG.
I found a phone number that I'm hoping is the direct number.
