I have a pre paid Visa associated with an account I have for my business. Can I use this to pay towards my onboard account? In the past we have always used our regular credit card. Thanks!
You would have to check the terms of your prepaid card. Some of them do not permit the cards to be used for certain services like hotel check-in, picking up a rental car, paying at the gas pump etc. Now they will let you use the card at the end of said service, ie settling the hotel bill or paying for that rental car when the final amount is known.
Chances are the DCL rep isn't going to even notice if the card is a gift card, prepaid, debit etc. The rep will just swipe the card and if it authorizes for say $300 then you're on your way.
I know its not the same, but we tried to use one on NCL ( ) last year and I told them to run it for a specific amount, which was exactly how much the card was for, and when they would do it, it came up declined. It had something to do with the card and their system. They gave me a detailed explanation on why it wouldn't work (which I don't remember anymore) and couldn't take it. But when I asked ahead of time I was told it was no problem. So try yours, but be aware based on the card, it just might not work. I'm thinking on our coming cruise of using the prepaid cards I have to buy Disney gift cards which I think would work on the cruise. I figure those should probably work

Duh! Why didn't I think about that? I used a similar tactic to scam extra airline miles Anyway, yes, you could use the prepaid Visa to buy Disney gift cards from wherever and then load all the gift cards ont your DCL ship account.
