Can I pay for a resale using a credit card?

I thought I read on one of the posts that you can use credit card "checks" to purchase a resale. But I was wondering if it's ok to purchase by using my credit card directly. (So I can earn air miles.)

It would be up to the agency. Most won't allow it because they have to pay a fee. All you can do is ask.

When we paid off our DVC contract we paid with my credit/debit card to get the mega rewards on the card. So if the resale is through Disney I would think that you could use your credit card unless the rules have changed. Good luck! :cool1:

Have recently purchased 2 different resales (from 2 different agencies) and no, cannot use just a credit card, tried that one too!

They werent allowed when we bought our resale but things tend to change.

I would definetly ask.

The post asked about resales, and you can't buy resales from Disney. They are called add-ons, and Disney does allow credit cards, so I suppose a card check would by OK. Most resales, though, do not allow the checks or the credit cards. They require a certified bank check. But you would have to call the company and ask, just to be sure.

The Timeshare Store, Inc. does NOT accept credit cards and neither does the title company. The reason is a percentage of that amount has to be paid to the credit card company, usually in the 4% range.

The developers are happy to take credit cards because they are making so much money on the transaction itself, that the amount they pay to the credit card company is considered very small for the cost of doing business.

Hope this helps,
