Can I pay cash for the points I'm short or do I have to pay for the whole night?

We're 4 points short after banking, borrowing, etc. (I knew we were and were planning to stay at OKW, but now DH wants BCV!). We're considering paying cash for one night at BCV to make up the difference. My question is do we need to pay for the whole night or just for the value of the points we're short? I'm sure the answer is probably that we have to pay for the whole night, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks.

You need to pay for the whole night. You might also consider renting points and having them transfered into your account for the 4 needed points. That would only be about $40 versus teh cost of a whole night.

Thanks DisneyDiane. I considered renting the points, but there is a chance this trip may not happen - my mom is quite ill and we don't know what her status will be by December and may decide to stick close to home. What happens if you rent points and then cancel the ressie?

The points will be transferred into your account and from that point on, will behave as if they were always your points. If you cancel your ressie, you get the points back. Rent from someone with the same use year as your points and you shouldn't have to do anything different with them than you would your other points.

Hope you don't have to cancel - if you do, all the banked points and borrowed points will expire at the end of the use year.

My advice is to go ahead and rent the 4 points - if you have to cancel and can't find a way to use the banked and borrowed points by the end of the use year, you will have a bigger problem to worry about than the 4 extra points.

Sorry about your Mom - hope she gets better.

Best wishes -
