Can I park at Poly. to visit my parents there while I am staying off-property?

My family (wife and 2 kids) are staying off-property while my parents are staying in the Polynesian Resort.

Will the Polynesian staff allow me to park my car in the hotel lot to meet up with them (whether visiting with them in the hotel or then traveling to the parks)? Would my parents need to communicate to parking somehow to expect our visit? Will I have to park in the Ticket & Transportation Lot instead? Luckily it's closeby but whatever time we could save by not "tramming it" would make our vacation more enjoyable.

Thanks!

Well, basically it comes down to if you are not a guest at the resort, then you are only given a three hour parking pass to park there at the resort. If you are planning on heading on to a theme park with your parents, then I would just park in the TTC lot and walk over. Depending on where in the Poly your parents' room is, it might even make sense for them to walk over and meet you at the TTC.

You should be ok. Your parents could ask for an extra parking pass for you(2 passes per room are usually ok), but since the Poly is one of those places people try to park at to avoid the TTC you won't know for sure until you ask the hotel when your parents arrive.

A Cast Member told me if you were to visit someone staying at a Resort on the Monorail line even if you did not have an ADR, you would be allowed to park there since the other people would be registered guests of that Resort. So you just tell the Cast Member at the guard gate their name and their room number once you arrive, because you're visiting them. However you are still not allowed to leave you're car parked at the Polynesian and visit the Magic Kingdom, so if you plan on going there then park at the TTC and walk over to the Polynesian and meet you're parents.

I would have your parents get a parking pass for the car. Then you could park in the lot with no problems.

When my dad drove up to spend some time with us at BWV several years ago, I asked the front desk the best way to have them with us for the day. THey gave me a parking pass, which I would have gotten in any case if I had had a car. They told me to give it to my dad and he could park in the lot with no problem. When he drove up to the guard shack, he gave them our name and room number, and they waved him through. He decided to valet so the parking pass wasn't needed.
I don't think anyone is going to have a hard time with them parking in the lot if they are with you...even if you go to a park for the day.

We had friends visit us at the YC last year and what the people at the desk told us to do was call down to the guard and tell him their names, then when they arrived they identified themselves and told him who they were visiting. They parked valet and were able to join us, have lunch and visit at Chefs with us then they simply picked up their car at the end of the day from valet.

If they won't have a car, then you can just get a parking pass that they are entitled to. That's what my DB and DSiL did one time when visiting me.
