Can I mix DDP credits and cash for TS?

I need some advice about a probable scenario.

I just went through our ADRs for our upcoming trip and I think I will have a couple TS left over due to some splitting during the week. My two oldest kids can't eat full adult servings at some of the restaurants and will split a couple of times. Our last table service in breakfast at Cape May's and I definitely want to use 5 credits for that meal. So, if we eat at say Beaches and Cream the night before, will they allow us to use 3 credits and pay cash for two other meals? Are there any restaurants that will have issue with this? I know the buffets charge one credit per person and Via Napoli won't allow us to split. I just want to make sure I don't end up paying OOP for our last character meal as that is one of the more expensive meals on our trip.

Absolutely, in all restaurants, you're allowed to split up the check between OOP and DDP any way you want. (Well, all that take DDP at least :p). It gets sticky when you're trying to share a single credit among 2 people for some places, but doing what you're describing here is absolutely fine.

Just let the server know ahead of time who's going to be OOP and who's going to be DDP (if you can) so they can enter it into the computer correctly the first time :)

Just to clarify, VN won't allow you to feed two people with one credit. However, if you were opting to pay out of pocket for two people, they could share.

Example: Not Allowed - One individual pizza for two people, paid using a dining credit
Example: Allowed - One individual pizza for two people, paid with cash/credit

Also, you can "mix" credits and OOP at any given meal. Just tell the server who is using a credit and who is not and they'll split the bill accordingly. This can also help you "save" credits for use later.

Yes you can and you may have a sight like this....

This was on the trip where my DD10 wanted a kid's meal and I didn't want to waste an adult credit on it so we paid OOP. That was one folder. The 2nd one was for our other 2 meals on the DDP. And the 3rd one was for my DM's glass of wine.

I took a photo since I thought it was so funny! :rotfl:

I read in another thread people saying that you can share a 1TS on the ddp with two people.

So you can't share a meal between two people and only use up 1TS? Will someone clarify this as we were considering doing this one or two times.

For any fixed price options (shows, buffets, other all-you-can-eat places), you cannot. At Via Napoli, you cannot. At Beaches and Cream, you used to not be able to (haven't heard anything recently).

For Disney owned restaurants, (unless in the above list), it's usually ok. For non-Disney owned restaurants, it's up to them to allow it or not (as is the case of Via Napoli), but most are fine with it.

I don't eat much and so plan to share an adult TS with my daugher at a la carte restaurants. Those restaurants I have in mind are Tony's, Chef de France, rose and crown, kona, Be our Guest and T Rex. Will these be ok?
