I would like to leave my Disney rewards Visa card at the front desk at OKW to cover my costs and to be sure I use it. I am afraid I will leave it at home. It is worth over $200.

Can I?

When we were at BWI in October, on the day before we checked out DH went to the front desk and used the balance of our card toward our bill. No problems.

I'm sure you could apply the balance to your room at check in - just make sure you "charge" enough to cover it and not lose it.
Not a problem for us!!

I wouldn't "leave" the physical card at the front desk, you never know where it may walk off to.... <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_1_116.gif' border=0></a>

Enjoy!

I completely agree with sheryl0521. I would not leave your card with the front desk. It could get lost, or if your anything like me, you may forget to pick it up to bring it back home with you. I was worried that I would forget to use my rewards too. One trip to Downtown Disney and it was all used up. Maybe you could tape it to your visa card so that you wont forget to use it. Good Luck!!!

I am taping it to my disney visa now!

Don't you have to submit something to Disney Visa to get a certificate or something for your Disney Rewards? I haven't done this yet, but will need to use them for a trip in May. Anyone know the process?

goofy4dvc,

Do you already have the reward card? If you do not, then just call the phone# on the back of your visa card to request the reward card. They will mail the card to you. It looks like a credit card. With just a phone call to visa they can transfer the reward dollars to your card, however, you do have to have a certain amount built up in order to transfer them to the card. I can't remember if it is $10 or $20. They will explain that to you when you call them. It is very easy to use. Make sure you call at least a month before you go because it may take a couple of weeks for the card to get to your house.

You need to order a Rewards Card that you can pre-load with as many of your reward dollars as you wish. You can do it online
Disney Visa link
or call 1-800-300-8575. The Rewards card will be mailed to you. I ordered mine today and it will be here by Jan. 13. The dollars are good for one year after they are added to your card. You can get the card now with dollars you already have and then add more dollars to the card just before you are ready to leave for your trip. Once you have the actual card, you can load with additional dollars quickly. Have fun!

Thanks for this info! This sounds great!! That really makes it so convenient.

Just be sure to use your Rewards Card toward your bill on the day or night before check out. If you have express check-out they charge your bill after midnight of your last night to your credit card on file so when you get the bill under your door on your last day it has already been charged to your credit card. I learned this "the hard way" on my last visit in November when the CM at check-out said my bill was only 75 cents (a local call made that morning) and it was too late to use the Rewards credit. However, I was still able to use half of my balance at Mouse Gear at EPCOT later that morning. :teeth:

Maybe you could tape it to your visa card so that you wont forget to use it

I would not do this with any cards with a magnetic stripe - you could demagnetize either or both of the cards.

I think having it swiped when you check in is a great idea if you plan to put your card on your room key and then use that for charges.

I don't do that, so here's what I did last trip:

I have a special wallet I use on my trips and one slot is for my credit card. I put my Rewards Card in that slot until it was used up and then put the visa card there........so just put it where you usually put the credit card and move the credit card to another spot.
