can I have some opinions on this dress for DH's Xmas party....

Im glad you got it! Its a beautiful dress, should look great on you(congrats on the weight loss!), and I dont think its too dressy for that kind of an event. DH's company's holiday party is the same sort of thing, only its at a really nice hotel. Some people do dress up really nice like that, and dont look out of place...in fact they are the ones people notice and think they look good!
