I looked on TSA website but could not find an answer. I take Clorox anywhere spray with me always in my purse. Can I keep it in there when we fly? Also what about my hand wipes, also in my purse?

hand wipes are fine.....but any liquid has to be 3 oz or less for carry on.

According to TSA's list of items (under Disabling Chemicals & Other Dangerous Items) liquid bleach is NOT allowed either in carry-ons OR in checked baggage.

Although they are NOT bleach, I have heard of Tide to Go pens being confiscated from both carry-ons and checked bags because the inspectors thought they do contain bleach.

Sheesh! No it does not contain bleach at all. I forgot to ask about my Tide to go pen also. Gosh looks like I am SOL on everything. Thanks to you both for the help.

Put them in your checked baggage, as they might miss them or just not care, depending on the screeners (they REALLY aren't all that much better since 9-11) but in your carry on, they definately will be checked. Best case, you get them through... worse case, they take them. Of course you can wait until getting to Orlando and getting a delivery service to deliver or if you have a car go to Walmart or publix... or spend a fortune and go to Goodings.

I really would not recommend trying to sneak bleach through. That is not one of those "only the US bans it because they are wackos" type of items. Most airlines worldwide do not allow corrosive and/or oxidizing chemicals on board their planes in luggage. I am not sure exactly the reasoning, but it seems serious enough that it is just universally banned.

Even if you say you didn't know any better, the TSA CAN give you a REALLY hard time if they find something prohibited in your luggage. Yes, they ordinarily take it and leave you a note telling you not to bring that anymore. But they can pull you off the flight and make your day very unpleasant. Some of them are pretty cranky sometimes.

I just would not take the risk of getting that one over cranky TSO. I would hate to hear about a ruined vacation because of something like that.

And I agree, it bites about the Tide pens...I thought they would be a great alternative to the bleach pen. I have 2 little ones and really like to treat stains. We have an Owner's Locker down there since we go so often and I bought Zout down there and leave it.

Except as pointed out earlier, the Tide pens AND the Clorox spray do NOT have bleach in them according to the OP. If that is indeed the case, then there is NO REASON they should not be allowed as they are not corrosive. In that case, the only hassle would happen if TSA is incompetent and doesn't know what they are doing (comments on which I will refrain from at this time).

Clorox Anywhere Spray DOES contain bleach. Majorly watered down bleach, but bleach nonetheless.

Tide to Go pens do not and should not be confiscated, I agree. I just mentioned it because earlier this year there were posts from people who had them taken.

I wonder how much bleach is in "Available chlorine 0.009%" Maybe the TSA people are incompetent but surely they won't say that is bleach. I guess I better decide what I want to do. Thanks for the help everyone. Leaving in four sleeps!!! YAY!!!

I don't know about the Clorox spray (I'm packing both, it and wipes in my checked bag this trip). However, I know with the Tide pen it will depend on the TSA agent you get. Last May I had mine confiscated from my 3-1-1 bag, but this past Sept the TSA agent didn't even glance at it. I'm putting it in my 3-1-1 bag again this trip and seeing what happens.

You had to ask. Apparently, you're not aware of my interest in numbers.

It's 9/1,000 of an ounce. Anybody know how much a single salt crystal weighs? I think, more that this...
