Next year when I go back to school, I have to get a 504 evalutation. Since I had missed so much of school this year, this would allow me to catch up on classes next year.
For example, I am good at everything but math and science. If I'm not being taught by someone who specializes in math or science, I will learn very little. Unfortuntely my tutor is a social studies teacher, but she communicates with my math and science teachers. If I learn poorly this time around, I will skip my electives next year in order to re-take Algebra and Earth and Spae Science. Kinda like a review course.
However, in my school, students who have a 504 are usually autistic or had ADHD/ADD/etc. and are placed in 'special ed' classes.
I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST THOSE WHO DO HAVE AUTISM OR ADD/ADHD/ETC.
I just find in unfair I might be placed there when I shouldn't be. I'm perfectly capable of handling myself, I just have this 504 due to missing school from being sick all the time.
I'm sorry if this seems petty or stupid, but I'm already working my behind off and going to summer school JUST to make sure I'm able to graduate with the rest of my class.
