Can I have a cash reservation and points res made "travel with"?

We will be having family join our trip, but they will be using cash. Can we call MS and have them connect our two parties?

If they are booking cash through Disney, the only thing each can do is put a note that you are traveling with and the reservation number.

The resort will then do the best they can to get you close. We have had some success but not always.
