Can I get the AP rate for a friend?

We are traveling with friends next May. We are AP holders and they are not, nor do they plan to become AP holders.

Can they book a room at an AP rate (if available) and have me show MY annual pass when they check in or does the AP have to match the name on the reservation?

any help would be greatly appreciated!!

we're staying on points though--not using out AP for our room--so could I use my AP for a room I'm not staying in? Does the AP have to match the name on the ressie?

Sure does. Otherwise people would be selling their AP room discount to non AP holders

5 trips and I've never been asked to show them my AP ever. Of course, you know how Murphy's Law works.....

My first they asked...my second, they did not.
I did have to show every time I admitted into a park.

I haven't been asked to show my AP either at check in, but there is no way I'd risk that happening.

So, hopefully there will be another good deal like the 4/7 deal like last year.

I have had to show our AP every single time we checked in using an AP rate (AKL, WL, CR, CBR, YC). It may be the luck of the draw but I believe this is standard check in procedures.

An AP SHOULD ALWAYS be verified prior to letting anyone who has booked with an AP rate complete check-in. If you book it and can't produce the AP, then those who risk it should be prepared to either pay rack rate or high tail it to a ticket window or DTD to purchase an AP before continuing their check-in.

This is exactly what I wanted to know. I think the rules have changed in the last couple years (I think you used to be able to book multiple rooms) but now it says (I think I found it on Disney's site) ONE room per AP. But it doesn't say whose AP it has to be. I assume it has to match the ressie.

For our trip this past July my mom called CRO and booked 3 rooms at the AP rate. Yes, we all had APs at check in--but we weren't asked for them so I really don't know how it works. So, I have no idea if the AP had to match the name on the ressie.

I agree with previous posters that the AP should ALWAYS be asked for at check-in.

My DH and I both have APs. I am not even using my AP to book our room, but I guess I can't use it for our guests.

I asked if I could book 2 rooms using my AP and was told yes. The only difference for mine is that I am booking and paying for 2 rooms because I am paying for my sister and niece and nephew.
