Is it possible to get the preferred boarding passes (or whatever they're called) if I've already booked my flight & haven't paid the $10 yet? Can I add it to my reservation? If so, how do I do it?

Yes, you can purchase EarlyBird check-in after you've made your reservation. Look for the link in your confirmation email from Southwest or go to the Travel Tools section of their website to find the EarlyBird link.

The Southwest website FAQ section says:
"How can a Customer purchase EarlyBird Check-in?
EarlyBird Check-in can be purchased only on southwest.com at the time you make your reservation or up to 25 hours prior to their flight's scheduled local departure time. Customers may purchase EarlyBird Check-in on southwest.com only through a link on the southwest.com confirmation page following purchase of the reservation, through a link in the confirmation e-mail that is following purchase, or via a link in the Travel Tools section of southwest.com. EarlyBird Check-in cannot be purchased over the phone."

Thanks! It is DH & I in the party. Do we both need it or can I just get it for one of us?

I usually get one for DH, he is crazy about being early on the plane :) we are all going the same place. Last flight he got 15 numbers ahead of me :)

Just be aware that those who have already purchased EBCI will get lower boarding numbers. The boading spots are handed out in order of purchase date.
There are three of us traveling next month. But, since dh is traveling round trip on SW, and dd and I are only flying down on SW (returning JB), I bought EBCI for dd and myself for the flight down. We'll get on board and save that middle seat for dad!! But I did book EBCI for dh for his flight home. That way we don't have to worry about checking him in the day before...we'll be at breakfast, having a good time.

By all means......for those who enjoy making new friends on a crowded flight, do NOT spend the $10.....plus all those cozy center seats.

DH and I firmly believe the $20 we spend for the Bird each way is the best investment we make for a disney holiday....no stress, no worry and complete convenience!

After all....we aren't exactly taking a BUDGET trip when traveling to WDW! The Bird is a BARGAIN!

I am definitely going to add it - especially with a 6:15 a.m. departure flight. ;)
