When I tried to enter my airmiles number for our reservations through Delta, it would not let me so I opened up accounts for each of my children. We are flying home on American airlines. Does anybody know if they will let you apply more than one persons airmiles to one account on any airlines? I hope this makes sense.
Thanks!

Each person is credited with their own miles. Person A can't get credited with person B's miles. You can transfer miles from one person to another, but you are charged to do that.

If you haven't opened flrquent flyer accounts for everyone at booking time you have a few weeks after you fly the first flight to do so and request that trips be assigned to the new account(s).

Two infrequent fliers don't make one frequent flier. Normally each person must have his own account and once miles are put in that account the miles may not be combined with miles from any other account to earn a free trip.

No sharing allowed on Delta. I asked Delta's SkyMiles customer service and they said I can't have the kids' miles put on my account. So I opened up one for each of us.

thanks all for your advice. I will open up accounts for each of my children. It will be nice to start accumulating miles for them. does anyone know how long before airmiles expire for delta, american and alaska? Our miles with frontier from our trip 4 years ago expired, darn. I did have accounts for each of the kids for that trip (seattle to orlando is about as far as you can go in the USA)

For Delta, you just have to have some type of activity within 3 years.

That includes transfers from credit cards, hotel programs, rental cars, etc.

So if you are getting close to expiration, just transfer a few CC miles, or points from a hotel program, and that will give you another 3 years.

Actually SEA-MCO is only 2550 miles. You can fly a lot further between two US cities than SEA-MCO if you include states and US territories outside of the contiguous US:

Montpelier, VT to Agana Field, Guam: 7820 miles

Portland ME to Honolulu, HI: 5101 miles

Seattle, WA to San Juan PR: 3736 miles

Boston, MA to Pago Pago, American Samoa: 7370 miles
