Can I get a good car rental rate for the week after Thanksgiving?

Hi. I was wondering if I should expect any good car rental rates for the Saturday after Thanksgiving, for a week. We would like a minivan or SUV, and would prefer to have the car rental company on airport property. I've been getting some pretty high rates, I wonder if that is because we are travelling so close to Thanksgiving.

I used a code found at mousesavers.com and got base price of $200 per week from Nov 20 through Dec 3 (2 wks) for a minivan through Thrifty. You may want to check that out...

I got $183 National EA for those dates. I will be looking for lower rates.

Rates have been very high lately even for non holiday periods. Our friends that traveled in September even paid high rates. We leave next week and the best I could get was $159 a week for intermediate at National before the taxes and fees are added on (and before the discounts). I settled for this amount, but it is so much higher than in the past (Paying $347 for 2 weeks, intermediate price). I could've saved $40 by going with Dollar, but decided to pay the extra to National for the EA convience and that we are arriving later in the evening than usual. My daughter is going for a 6 day trip, so the best we could get her was either an SUV for $186 (6 days) at Alamo, or $206 with National. She too decided to stay with National for the higher rate (her dates are Oct.22-27). Seems the dirt cheap prices we are come to know do not seem to be showing up this fall. Considering I'm only one week away and daughter is 2 weeks away, it doesn't look too promising. So if you find a rate you can live with, you should book it now and hope for a discount, but prepare yourselves that one might not arrive. I don't even want to tell you what our quotes have been for our early Feb trip and our 2 week early May trip are...it's not pretty. Good luck.

Using the Entertainment coupon, a midsize SUV at Alamo is $241 including taxes/fees.

Using the Budget AA offer, an intermediate SUV is $260 including taxes/fees.

I'm not sure if they're on airport property or not, but they appear to be the cheapest
