I had to search long and hard to find real coffee at WDW....so what's the story with coffee at DL? Is there anyplace that serves French press?

No french press.

Haagen Dasz in DTD sells Peets brand espresso; I don't know about plain old coffee.

Compass Books sells, when last I called them to ask about it, a local roaster's coffee called Koffee Klatch.

Other than that, it's Nescafe. I will admit that the blend they had at Storyteller's Cafe was much better than elsewhere (the server told me it's unique to that restaurant), and I don't mind an iced latte from anywhere in the park (they do much better than starbucks does, most of the time, as long as I remember to get 2% milk instead of Disney's whole milk which tastes like whipping cream to me), but Nescafe is Nescafe.

What about the Coffee House at DL Hotel?

I didn't try it. But since Disney is under contract for Nescafe coffee, I'm pretty sure that the coffee at the Disney-owned places is going to be Nescafe. The other places I mentioned aren't Disney owned.

A while back there was talk about them making a new contract with another coffee company. Did nothing come of that yet? We went to La Brea Bakery in DTD to get coffee. They used Starbucks so it was much better than Nescafe. Not a Starbucks like you order fancy mochas, but they brewed Starbucks brand coffee.

A couple of years ago, the coffee at Cafe Orleans was pretty good (coming from a somewhat coffee snob). I know it was a Nescafe' brand, but don't remember which one. DH and I both had 3 cups, and even commented to our waitress that it was pretty good (and asked which brand it was). If nothing else, you could probably get a to-go cup from Denny's across from DL. At least it is not Nescafe'.

You can get wonderful coffee at the Coffee Shop on Main Street. I can't recall the name, but it is on the right hand side as you are walking towards the castle. Save your receipt and you get free refills all-day.

That is the place Dangermouse was just talking about. I can't say how it is now if they switched brands, but I can tell you it was anything but wonderful before. Still, my DH, being desperate, always went there and kept his receipt so he could go back for more punishment! :rotfl: We won't get to try it until August.

We just got back from 4 days at DLR in early December. My husband is a coffee snob. I brought our own in baggies, freshly ground at home, and half/half...for the hotel...so our mornings weren't focused on getting his fix...well the hotel had a special coffee maker...only special pods...ahhh!!

So he thought breakfast might have good coffee since we were staying at the sheraton....no such luck....

So by the time we got to the park, he was more than annoyed, no coffee...no happy husband....

We must have tried every coffee maker in the park in the 4 days we were there....all were horrible....

DISNEY>>>>> PLEASE put some good coffee in the park! Especially for worn out parents of toddlers!!! You pay such attention to detail on everything...but the coffee!!

I've given up on good coffee at DL. I just bring my french press and brew my own. I go to Starbucks and get decent beans ground for a french press. The Candy Cane has water hot enough to brew a good cup using a french press. I've stopped buying coffee at DL. I can understand them not having the best coffee, but Nescafe? What is it with DL having the best amusement park on the planet but having some of the worst food around. I can get a better burger at McDonalds for heavens sake. That is flat out wrong.

We are not coffee snobs but found the best coffee in the park was the place on main street. Plus the bonus is you get free coffee all day if you save your receipt. That was always are first stop of the day and our last stop at night.

We ran into this problem too. So last time we went we brought our little 4 cup coffee maker and it sufficed.

Well, that's just sad. I'll have to figure out something for the couple of days I'll be there. Thanks!

Last time I was at DCA they had a coffee cart by Golden dreams (former) that made Lattes. We always ordered iced mochas, that were very good. Never had the coffee "plain". Starbucks now sells little packets of instant coffee syrup, maybe look into that.

Judy, Toocherie introduced me to that cart, too. Quite good! Don't know what their trick is!

I'd forgotten about the Joeffrey's thing...I never have been to that particular place for coffee.

I guess I am not much of a coffee snob. I just need a bit of caffeine in the morning with breakfast to get me going and then I lay off the coffee for the rest of the day. (I must say that Peet's is a good brand, though!) However, two of my friends (who are sisters) have each complained about the coffee at DLR being way, way, way too strong, and they end up dumping all kinds of packets of cream into it to tone it down, but it never works. This has happened at Storyteller's Cafe, at Goofy's Kitchen, a random coffee cart over near Paradise Pier in DCA and at the Market House. In fact, this past December 19th when we were there, my friend got a big cup of coffee in DCA to get over the mid-afternoon slump syndrome, and she complained for a long time about how strong and "bad" it was. Meanwhile, I can handle the coffee at Goofy's and Storytellers and wherever else - with very little cream - and it doesn't bother me. So I guess it is just comes down to personal taste to a degree.

And two of my other friends liked the coffee at both Blue Ribbon Bakery and at Market House.

The Market House is pretty good. You can get regular or flavored (I think vanilla and/or hazelnut) coffee with free refills all day with your receipt. Sometimes the line gets pretty long though!

Yes, coffee is a personal taste thing. I drink the darkest french roast I can find....love it strong. Actually my two favorite coffees right now is Emerils and Tully's french roast. I use Keurig because it makes it strong and HOT.
OK, for some fun.....post pictures of you drinking coffee in the parks!

Look at this one. obviously FL during EE, I kept my coffee the whole ride.

Coffee in the morning is needed....even with pixie dust!

I love those pictures, Judy! It's so funny that you got the coffee into the PhotoPass shot!!

Hmmm....I don't think I have any incriminating coffee pictures of myself at DL. I wonder if I even have any with my friends and their coffee. I will have to go back and look in the photo archives....
