Can I get a AAA discount?

I booked my room and tickets through Disney with a 10% room only discount code. Can Disney check to see if there is a AAA discount and apply it if it is more? Or does that have to be done through AAA?

Does anyone know what sort of discount AAA offers?

i'd love to hear from others what you get for AAA and how muchit is in Fl? is it worth it? thank you

For Room Only, you can get the AAA Discount right through Disney. I'm not sure what the exact discounts are, so I would suggest calling to ask.

If you booked a package, then you can't get the AAA discount through Disney. You would have had to book that through a AAA Travel Agent.

According to Mousesavers, the AAA discount is 10%-20% off of the rack rate, depending on the season.

If you want to book a room-only, you can do it directly with Disney. But if you booked "room + tickets", then you have a package. AAA packages can only be booked through a AAA agent.

You will need to have your AAA member number available to make the reservation with AAA. You might need it at the time that you call Disney if you are booking room-only.

Go to you AAA office and have them apply to the AAA room rate discount and then they call disney to see if your pin can be stacked.

We currently have a myw park hopper package booked thru AAA with a 15% discount from AAA that has a wdw emailed 15% pin stacked on top of it. I couldn't do it personally, AAA had to do it for me. WDW wouldn't do both when I called them. Also, the AAA agent mentioned to WDW it's our 10th anniv when she called and WDW gave us a free king sized bed upgrade at POFQ.

They've already told you that they've upgraded you? Wow - I'd never heard of this. I've heard that they can note things on your reservation about celebrations, but I've never heard anyone who was told they were getting an upgrade because of it. Congrats!

We'll be celebrating 10 years on our Oct trip too (looks to be pretty close to yours) and my TA made note of it, but I haven't been told of any "upgrade".

This had me curious too, so I talked to my AAA TA. She has been working with Disney for many years and travels there herself all the time. I think she is what they call a Disney Certified Specialist or something like that. She said you can't stack the discount and the PIN. I'd love to know how your AAA TA managed it, as would my TA.

I'm going with a large family group and we will have 3 rooms, can the AAA discount be applied to just the member's room or for all three? The member will be paying for all three.

To the best of my knowledge, Disney completely eliminated the possibility of stacking discounts around 2006 or 2007.

I'm not really sure about this. I would suggest calling a AAA office and asking them. And maybe even calling Disney to ask them, because as we know, you don't always get the same answers.

We just booked a "room only" with a AAA discount of 18.5%. :cool1:

I was surprised as I thought the standard AAA discount was 10%

I think that's a common misconception because of some of the information that is out there, or the lack of info. It's sometimes so hard to find definitive info.

Congrats on a discount bigger than you'd expected!!

My sister is a TA with small world. Sunday, I had her to book WL for me for labor day weekend. Because Disney doesn't have room only discounts available for that time, she booked me with a AAA discount. It was 15%. We also looked into POFQ and that discount was 10%.

If you are booking a room only, you don't have to book with AAA to get the discount. Your TA can book it, or if you take care of our own reservation, you can book it yourself when you call CRO.

I know our stacked pins go agaisnt this, but she was on speaker phone so i heard it for myself. Initially we were stacked with a free uprpgrade to a pofq garden view, but then we had to change the dates to 2 days earlier. I was not there for the change, but my aaa agent said there was no gardenview available for the new dates so they switched the upgrade to a king room. I did the math, we definetly got 2 discounts and are not paying for the king.

She simply booked us with the aaa discount and then called wdw to see if they would add our email pin. The agent checked our ressie and said yes and gave us a lower price.

Maybe we were just lucky, but our aaa agent didnt seem too surprised. She said shes been able to get alot of stacked discounts lately. :confused3

I just called Disney and I was told that there isn't a current AAA discount. Is the discount based on the dates that your are going or when you call? How can I find out if a discount comes available??

Booking thru aaa is always a little cheaper than directly booking thru Disney....aaa's little discount has NOTHING TO DO with Disney. I always save $50-$100. That's the only reason I let aaa hold my ressie.

I suggest calling a AAA travel agent instead and checking. I'm pretty sure that the only reason there wouldn't be any rooms available with the AAA discount is if they are already all booked, because there are usually only a certain number of rooms available for the AAA discount. There isn't a certain time of year or anything like that. I'm not sure why the Disney call center reps are saying there "isn't a current AAA discount." It's not like a PIN or Free Dining or other promotion.

Oh, and are you calling about room only? Because Disney reservations can only book room only with a AAA discount. If you're looking at a package (w/tickets and/or dining) you must go through a AAA Travel Agent.

There are a certain amount of rooms allotted per resort for the AAA discount per day. You have better luck the further you are out from your dates but even a month or two out, I've gotten AAA rates. Call your local AAA travel office and speak with a travel agent. They can check your dates and available resorts for you.

Edit: I just looked at your dates tag and you should most definitely be able to get AAA discounts. I got quotes for the last two weeks in October at three different values no problem last week. Again, call you AAA travel agent.

I'm already booked with a 10% off code for room only at ASMo. I'm guessing either all of the AAA rooms are booked already or the guy didn't want to look it up... either way, I'll be calling sporadically to see if there are rooms for AAA available or else another pin that's a better deal. Thanks for the help everyone!!

:thumbsup2

Have you considered calling a AAA TA? I was just reading another post where someone said they got a PIN and when they called Disney to see about applying it to their existing reservation, they were told no rooms at POP for that PIN. They then called a TA who was able to book them a room at POP using that PIN. Might not hurt to cal at AAA Travel Agent.
