Can I decline just some of the magic bands?

We're doing a split stay for our upcoming trip, however 4 of us are staying at the first hotel and my husband is joining us for the second stay. Therefore he doesn't have a magic band for the first stay. I don't like wasting or complicating things, so I'd rather just keep the ones the 4 of us have from the first stay and then have dh pick up his at the second hotel. Can I decline some of the magic bands and not all of them?

Yes but since it is a split stay the system may not let you as it is usually your 2nd trip after your first magicbands ship that they let you decline. I'm not 100% sure if split stays give you the option if this is your first magicband trip. If this is not your first trip with magicbands you can decline some, none, or all on either reservation

Decline? You will all need them. He just needs to get his the day he comes in if you didn't order it already. He will get a generic grey one. Once you make a reservation at the hotel they give you access to the magic bands.

Why would you decline any of them when you will need them? I'm confused about your question.

If you make a reservation for four people at a resort you get access to four bands.

If you make one for 5 you get 5.

If he isn't showing up until the second stay then you don't include him on the first, then there no waste?

Maybe I'm reading this wrong. Idk.

The first 4 guests will "automatically" get TWO SETS of MagicBands.
One set for each separate resort stay.

The OP's husband will only get one MB as he is only staying at the second resort.

Have a great trip!

You can only decline if the person on the reservation already has a magic band linked on their account before the bookings. If this is everyone's first time with MB you won't be able to decline on the second reservation because the system doesn't have bands linked to the account under their name yet.

Example - I have a room booked for me, my mom and friends in Feb. I can decline my band but the other two can't be declined because they don't have any bands. The following night I have just mom and I booked at a different Disney hotel. Again I can decline but because the system doesn't know my mom has a band it makes me order a second one for her.

Make sense???

They charge you per person each night so I would make sure to let them know he isn't coming until he actually arrives. I hope OP didn't include him in the room when he wont be there.

I recently stayed at animal kingdom and the reservation was just made for two people. Two days later I called to include a third person and was charged more per day for the room seeing how they were over the age of 18.

So if he isn't coming. Don't include him. Until he's showing up.

It is a split stay. Stay 1 has the Wife and Kids. Then they have a completely separate reservation that includes Wife, Husband, and Kids.

So OP based on your signature it looks like everyone has done a trip with MBs before. If that is the case anyone who has a MB on their account before the reservation is booked will be able to decline future MBs. So if you and the kids have traveled with MBs you can get new ones during Stay 1 and then decline stay 2. Hubby can still get his for stay 2. No need to pick it up at the hotel unless you are international guests.

If its a completely separate stay then why ask about the bands. He won't get one if he isn't included on the trip he isn't attending.

It isn't the husband's she is trying to decline. It is her's and her children's since they have two reservations and would like to have only one set instead of 2 for the wife and kids.

If you can decline it, the option will appear when your customizing each band online. If it's only asking you name and color, you will be getting a band..

It seems like a waste, but they are interesting keepsakes and bands have been known to stop working. I would get them all and keep the extra 4 in your luggage in case something happens. If disney replaces any bands it will be a generic grey one they give you. If you don't need them, the kids have 2 for keepsakes. You already paid for the bands, your not going to get money back by declining them.
