Can I charge our DisneyBands a few weeks before a cruise?

We sail on the Dream in a few weeks. Can I charge our new bands now and leave them turned off in my backpack?
I know they say it lasts 1-3 days but isn't that referring to how many days of being used?

I'd rather just charge now to get it out of the way but not if I'll have to do it again in our FL hotel.

In our experience, ours did not stay charged even for a full day, no matter the amount of time they were / were not used. We carried a 'spare' just incase and DEFINITELY had to re-charge them every night. To say I am not a fan, would be an understatement.

Wow, that is awful. If ours are that bad, there will definitely not be a spare band bought.
I only bought them to hopefully ditch the lanyards.

It is my understanding that they’ll work for unlocking doors and charging without being charged and that the charging gets you the interactive stuff during shows, etc. I am sure someone else can answer that…

Though we still need to bring our key cards when getting off and on the ship, correct? I’m sure port authorities want to be able to see proof that you belong on the ship.

Yes. You need the key cards to get back on the ship.

While I can't answer your question. I can say that I charged my magic band+ and used them in DW 2 days later and had a full charge that lasted from rope drop to extended evenings, Genie + and lots of ride photos (I am sure the battery was used more then on a cruise) . I am not sure if they were dead but I charged them while I slept each night.

Best to charge them the night before, not several weeks before. We charge them while we sleep each night. They work to open doors etc, but the lights and stuff on them won't work w/o a full charge. Ours worked all day-not a problem. You do need the card for off and on the ship. So... they are ship based, ditch the lanyard while on the ship, a novelty. Fun, but not a must have. Frugal mom speaking here...
