hi all. I am taking the Disney cruise from port canaveral which should disembark around 7:30 am. Will I make it for a flight at MCO airport at 10:30 am? Timing is the month of June and day of flight is a Sunday. Thanks for all your help.

We made a 11:25am flight on a Friday in Nov. I personally would be worried about making a flight that early.

I would never try it. Too many things can go wrong - plus security at MCO is a known travel nightmare.

Wasn't it just a couple of weeks ago that there was an emergency evacuation from Castaway which held the Fantasy there later and they got into port late on Saturday? I think someone on board said debarkation didn't start until 9am. Yes, it's rare, but if it happens to you...

Likely not possible and would not risk it. If however u take a later flight ... are you aware that Hyatt At MCO has daily rentals.
We did that and had use of room, pool etc. great way to relax before/after a cruise or after an internationals flight.
Safe travels!

Is it possible to make a 10:30 flight, yes -- if everything goes smoothly and ship arrives on time and is cleared on time. You would just need to be either in the Express Walk-off group (taking all your bags off with you) or in the first group off the ship. You cannot do Onboard Airline Check-in so if you need to check luggage, you need to have time for both check in with the airline and security in Orlando (which can have very long waits; having TSA pre-clearance might help).

But if you book a flight that early, you have to know that there are risks. Even if everything is going smoothly, there is the stress to get out and through customs quickly. I've been on several cruises were disembarkation hasn't started until 8 or later and that would cut into the time you have at the airport. Some people would book a 10:30 flight and be fine with it. If it's the only option for the day, I might do it but I would have a Plan B. Personally, the earliest I would risk it is 11:30 (because then I could at least use Onboard Airline Check-In and remove one line that I had to wait in at the airport).

I've done it in the past. You need to use Express check-out, a private transport and everything needs to go smoothly - ship cleared on time, immigration at PC and security at MCO, etc. We would not do it again because it puts a lot of stress on your disembarkation day when you could be relaxing and enjoying the last moments of your vacation. That being said, I know that some destinations/airlines only have one flight per day at 10:30 AM, namely Air Canada to Montreal, and that missing it means taking an extra vacation day or taking a non-prefered airline with a stop somewhere.

It can be done if all goes well, which it usually does. But if something goes wrong, which does happen from time to time, you will miss your flight. Up to you whether it is worth the risk.

should disembark around 7:30 am.
"Should" and "Will" are two different things.Hard to predict what will happen that morning. If you have a private car and TSA Pre Check, maybe.

If you have to ask, you already know the answer and are obviously worried/doubting you will make it. Follow your gut.
(That is not meant to be snarky)

For our cruise last year, we disembarked early thinking we'd get off to a good start to a long day in Magic Kingdom. When we went to pick up our bags before going through customs, another passenger had taken one of them and was already 45 minutes away from the port in their car. It took an hour to sort that out and fill out paperwork, and, when we finally got outside, there was an hour wait for the rental car shuttle.

Don't do it.

We went in September and we didn't get off the ship until after 8am and we walked our bags off the ship. The line was already down the hall going past lumieres. And it took forever to get off the ship. was cleared late

I might try it at some other ports, but not this one. Port Canaveral is a long drive from MCO, and security/check-in at MCO are terrible.

We got off the Fantasy at Port Canaveral two days ago, with an 11:50am flight to catch. We stayed for late seating breakfast, leaving the ship around 8:30. Still had well over an hour to kill at the airport after going through security and before boarding for our flight even began. My last year's cruise experience out of Miami was similar, with an even earlier airport arrival. I am now comitted to booking the earliest flight out of MCO that I can get after the Onboard Airline Check-In window opens, as I hate sitting around the airport. Have also never missed a flight in all my travels, fyi, so I'm careful enough.

You won't get to do Onboard check-in, but you should be fine with the early flight if you take a DCL bus. Lots of people on these boards wouldn't do it, but lots of people on these boards also plan all trips 2 years in advance, leave 2-3 days early for every cruise just in case their home airport shuts down, etc, etc. I'd prefer 11:30 or later as then you won't have to go through check-in for yourself or your bags, but if it's 10:30 or wait until the next day, I'd take the 10:30. I recommend eating early at Cabanas instead of the MDR, & doing express walk-off as soon as the ship opens, though. I wouldn't while away the time at my MDR.
