Can I cancel Disney transportation to Port Canaveral?

I booked our cruise transportation through the cruise line -- our flight doesn't leave Orlando until 5 pm. I am thinking I may want to rent a car and not spend all day at the airport. Do you know if I can cancel my transportation without a penalty??

Yes, you can call DCL and have them remove your transfer. There is no penalty.

Curious, since you are not using the DCL transportation will you have to carry your own luggage from the dock and check it at the counter at the airport. I think if you use the DCL bus, they ship your luggage. Please let me know as we are thinking of doing this, but moving the luggage is a big factor. I guess we should be posting this on the cruise board.

If you use your own transportation to get to port, there are porters waiting outside the terminal to take your luggage. You then proceed into the terminal to board. You don't have to lug your luggage through security into the terminal.

If you use DCL transfers, yes they transport your luggage for you. If you fly in the day of the cruise, your luggage will be routed to the ship, a la DME. If you stay at a WDW resort, your luggage will be picked up from your room and send to the ship to be delivered to your stateroom later in the afternoon.
