Can I cancel dinner reservations that i have booked online if i chose multiple time slots on the day of reservation or is that hogging times?

I am not sure what time we want to eat since we have small kids that need breaks since they are disabled and this way I know we have somewhere out of crowds to relax and regroup with kids. Is it OK or frowned on too have more than one time slot for meals on same day then cancel one when we chose which one we want to use? I don't want yo be hogging times on other resort visitors. Please advise if there is a time limit to cancel reservations at restaurants at any of the Disney resorts/parks.
Thanks

OK thanks for that info I didn't realize we had to pay for each person. So I will cancel once we decide which time we decide. Thanks for the advice

I just realized my times are on different days so I am ok just wait until my family decide whish time is better for them. I also never realized that you could not book on same day for same restaurant
Thanks everyone

I do this all the time and I don’t think there’s any shame in it, but of course I try to release the reservations as soon as I know. Like you I book for a couple different scenarios which is not the same as “hoarding” reservations and it sounds like you’re super conscientious if you’re even asking this question so I wouldn’t stress about it.

I also post the reservation I’m planning to cancel on the monthly restaurant DisBoard thread to try to link it up to someone who really wants it and help people out.

Cancellations for most restaurants last I booked are 24 hours prior to reservation. There are some exceptions but this is how most are structured I think.

Thank you for the confirmation. Yes I try to be conscientious about using times up since they are hard to get now and also because I have gone to Disneyland with hubby in Oct and found it hard to find anywhere to eat since no reservations. Also cause of the kids everyone's kids really need a quiet break.

Thank you
