Hello-- I wasn't sure or not if I can buy tickets as a DVC member and get a discount or not for my son when he goes down for spring break? If so do I have to be with him?

Thanks!

:)

The only DVC discount is for APs. If your son has ID that shows he lives at your address he should be okay. You will need to be there to show your blue member card.

Are you sure you can't order tickets and AP's ahead of time? I'd suggest trying on the website and if that doesn't work calling MS.

You can buy on line, but no discount for DVC, best to try UT or Park savers. You can get an AP on line, but you must show the member blue card and ID to activate it.

Generally speaking, discounted DVC tickets do not require activation, but AP’s do. You’ll need to stop by guest services with a membership card and photo ID to activate an AP, but not for tickets.

As noted above, there are no current DVC discounts available for tickets.

It has been reported before on this forum that if a College age child goes to ticketing with the matching address of their parents on their Driver's license, and takes a copy of the parent's DVC card and driver's license, plus the voucher number they can get their AP activated. You might want to call Member Services to see if that would work.

My 21 year old son did this in July. He had no issues with activating his pass by taking a copy of my drivers license and dvc member card. Along with his drivers license that matches the address of mine.

Another time, I accidentally took my husbands dvc member card to guest services instead of mine when activating an annual pass. I had to call my husband and have him message me a pic of his drivers license for the cast member. She took the pic of his Id for validation of the dvc discount on the annual pass.

Does anyone have an educated guess or historical data on when/if there will be another DVC ticket deal? I need 2 adults 4 or 5 day tickets for October. Trying to decide if it would be cheaper to renew my gold pass for this one trip or not.
Thanks!

Personally, in your situation, I would wait until October and buy a new Gold Pass then. Then you have a full year to use it. If you renew now, you will save some money, but you will lose about six months of use, and this would overwhelm any renewal savings.
There is also the possibility that another deal could be announced before then, as well.

I agree if you're renewal is coming up here in the next month or two. That's a decent gap. Of course your planned trips may line up that it makes no difference in a renewal vs a new but in general if it's a large time frame like that a new AP can make more sense.

But, for a single trip the last DVC ticket offer was almost identical in price to buying the same length of ticket from Undercover tourist. What it did offer was that the ticket did not expire until 6 months after the first use so if you were planning 2 short trips then it was a savings vs buying two tickets for short stays. I think the previous ticket offer was 4 days, 4 parks - ie you couldn't repeat a park and that was a good price but restrictive on where you used it. Another ticket was along the lines of getting the hopper and maybe water parks added for free but again, Undercover Tourist wasn't that much different if just looking for a hopper. So just saying that waiting and buying from Undercover Tourist for example may not be much different. Maybe renew or buy one Gold AP to get the photopass for your trip included but look at buying discounted tickets elsewhere if no ticket deal comes out from DVC.

We have APs sitting in our account for years (one was from right before they did the $399 Premium AP which we bought also). We just picked up three day FL Res tickets at the grocery store to use them for our next trip instead of using the APs. We'll probably use the APs in October.
