I am renting an RV and spending a week at Fort Wilderness. I am also bringing four of the neighbor's kids who all need admission. I don't need tickets for anyone in my immediate family, just the neighbor's kids. I am looking at buying a 2 day park hopper with the water park option so we can do two park days and two water park days. The DVC tickets are $1030.92 while the same non DVC ticket is $1265.24. If it matters I am not using points for this trip.

Can I buy the DVC tickets for kids or are not mine(adults - all are 16)?

Discounted tickets are limited to members of your household.

That's not true. Discounted annual passes are limited to your household, but you can but the other discounted tickets for anyone. If it's anything like the four-park ticket from 2014, the member doesn't Ben have to be traveling.

Perhaps I am misinterpreting the limitation which was provided when the discount tickets were announced and which appears on the member site, which is that a member is limited to "8 tickets per member household." I understood that to mean the ticket holders needed to be members of your household and even then you were limited to buying 8. Can someone confirm one way or the other?

I did not buy the DVC discounted tickets currently offered but I bought MNSSHP tickets through the website last fall using the DVC member discount associated with my account. I requested to have the actual tickets mailed to me which they did. I was using the for my immediate family but they mailed me activated tickets that I could reassign to anyone connected to my MDE account (they did make me select who was using them when I purchased but they were reassignable just like regular unused tickets). They had the same disclaimer on the DVC member website about "8 tickets per member household" so I would assume it would be the same for this current discounted ticket

Drusba its the same as the 4 day tickets last year. Each household can buy the max, but they dont have to be used by the members. We purchased for friends that were staying in the same room as us. They did not live with us, but we are sharing rooms on property together. Much like the OP, just not camping. OT I would love to camp, but DW idea of camping is staying at the values. I take my girls without the DW real camping 2 weeks every year and would love to do FW one year.

So I clicked the link to order the tickets and was able to assign tickets to the four neighbor kids as part of the purchase process, not sure if I was supposed to but the disclaimer just said 8 tickets per member household. It didn't say the tickets could only be used by members in the household. The tickets are now linked to their magic bands and I will be able to make fastpass+ reservations for everyone on the 27th.

Where do you go to purchase DVC discounted tickets? I can't seem to find it.

I recently purchased 6 tickets for family that is joining us in June. A DVC CM actually mentioned it to me when we called them about something else. So I let my family know about the offer and they thought it was better than paying the new ticket price. My DSIL had checked with her employer for discounts on tickets but they were only offering their employees discounted packages. So we were able to save them a little bit. We were given a confirmation number to be used by all six tickets.

Can someone please confirm for me.....I know you can buy tickets for people outside your household, but do they have to be traveling with me? I booked a DVC room for a friend and her family and would like to use this promotion for their tickets but I will not be on the trip. Thanks!

The terms say that the member must be there to activate the tickets. But it said that last time and wasn't true. I haven't seen any actual reports yet. I'll find out in July.

It's such a tiny discount that it would probably not be worth the PR hit they'd take, let along being more trouble technically than it's worth, to enforce any sort of restriction like that. Besides, you have to be a member to buy them in the first place and there is a quantity limit. My guess is you'll be fine.

As long as you can link them to there mde account it shouldn't be an issue
We have a member of our group that is not an owner and they will be there before us member services said as long as the ticket was assigned to them in mde before the trip there would be no issues

Thanks for the info - I appreciate it! I bought the tickets for them and chose the standard mail option over will call. Fingers crossed I'll be able to link them to their account. Worst case, I told my friend, I'd have to fly down for the weekend to activate them for her :duck:

Ok... I bought one of the tickets for SIL and immediately linked it to his MB/MDE. DD and I have APs from her birthday trip in October.

I'd like to buy 3 more of the special tickets for us to use in a year or two. How could I do that? Link them to other folks on MDE (my parents and brother) and transfer the tickets to us after our July trip?

We are planning on buying tickets for friends whose trip overlaps with ours. In the event for some reason they are not able to use the tickets as we will not be able to meet up with them their first day, will I be able,to reassign the tickets to my MDE to use later? If so, they will have a back up plan to buy tickets when they arrive. Or should we pretty much assume they will work? They are staying on our points as well and I didn't mark that they "are not a member" at the reservation.

If they are managed under your account, then you'll be able to transfer them later. If they have their own account linked to yours, then they'd have to do the transfer.

At this point, I'm pretty confident they'll simply work.

You can link the tickets to yourself. There's not a limit on the number of tickets you have linked to yourself. But you'll have to stop at Guest Relations and have them "prioritize" the tickets before you enter.

Or, you could create some "fake" people on your account and assign them the tickets. Then you can transfer them to yourself later.
