Hi folks,
We are staying over the road from Disneyland. Will that prevent me from purchasing basic goods such as bread and fruit from White Water Snacks in the Grand Californian??
Once again thank you all for your wealth of info and advice that you all so freely give :thumbsup2

You'll be able to buy whatever you like from the hotels, they don't require hotel ID to purchase. You may find cheaper alternatives nearby, as with all things Disney everything has a pretty decent markup.

Try googling for Vons or Safeway. I believe both of those might do deliveries to your hotel; assuming that the hotel lets you do so.

If you're staying at a private rental, then you should be able to schedule a delivery at a time that suits you to be there to accept the delivery.

Alternatively, you could drive to the closest Vons or Safeway. They should be about 5 - 10 minutes away.

There is also a very big Target on Katella. If it were me, Target would be where I would head to for a spot of shopping (including groceries).

I would expect Vons, Safeway and Target to carry groceries for cheaper than White Water Snacks.

Depending on where you're actually staying and if you'll have a car.
If you have a car, I second the Target suggestion. Also we loooove Walmart. You can get pretty much anything there.
If you won't have a car, the 7/11 nearby has most of what you might need.

I second the 7/11 suggestion. Personally grocery shopping is one of my most hated chores, and even if I had a car, I would NOT do it when I'm on holiday, unless I'm literally driving right past :rotfl:

There's no reason why you can't go to a Disney hotel for your grocery purchases, you'll just get seriously ripped off!

Agree re the markup pricing. Been a while since we stayed at grand Californian but we brought a loaf of bread from that cafe for toast for some silly price then took it down and used for toast each day using the complimentary condiments . Usually brought a coffee/ juice at the same time but from memory there was not a lot to buy apart from food you need to consume quickly. Would suggest off site for a bigger purchase.

Yes to the above. We found (six months ago) WWS offerings limited in the grocery department, especially compared to what you'd get at most WDW resort shops.

I found staying at Grand Californian DVC studio without a car that it provides a good source for basics, and of course Disney will take money from anyone :rotfl2:, but there are many convenience shops in the area.
