Yes, I did read that. It seems to me that bottled water would be different than a water bottle. Will they fill it with ice water? If so, for free?

You can get ice water for free. I don't think they would care if you brought in the water bottle. If they are concerned about alcohol no one would know if there was any alcohol a bottle of bottled water either.

If they're concerned about alcohol I can see them perhaps making you empty the bottle before bringing it in, but considering they have refillable cups that you can take from park to park I don't see why they wouldn't let you bring in the bottle!

They get kinda nuts about bottled water at HHN. They refused to let me bring in a regular plastic bottle of water. I offered to dump it, knowing I could refill it at fountains in the park, but they still refused. Not sure what they thought I was going to do with it.

HHN seems to run on a different set of rules than normal day to day Universal Parks. They don't allow anyone to bring in any "open containers" because for that particular event WAY too many people are sneaking in the booze.

Bag check at Uinversal is much different fro WDW. At Universal, they security guy said he was only checking for handles. We brought in bottled water and he did not care.

Yep, that's correct. For HHN, you can't bring in any drinks, even water. During regular park hours, it shouldn't be a problem.
