Tonight, my niece is being inducted into the Scholars program offered in her county. To qualify to be a "Scholar" Ashley had to have one of the top 50 scores in the county on the SAT. Now, this would be impressive to me if she were a Senior...but she isn't a Senior. She's only in 8th grade! She scored VERY well on the SAT as an 8th grader!!
(heck, I never even took the SAT
)
To say I'm proud of her is an understatment. She works very hard to earn the grades she gets and I just couldn't be happier for her to get this recognition. Tonight she'll get a certificate of achievement and a $500 scholarship to use towards an out-of-shool enrichment program. Plus she'll get special opportunites to participate in activities during her high school year.
So, if you have time, maybe you could congratulate my niece, Ashley on her accomplishment. And, her mom, DISer "WendyZ" as well, because we all know how vital parents are in their children's success.
Hope you don't mind me posting this, Wendy...I'm just so proud of my niece and her parents!!
