Does anyone know if I can make an ADR with one of the participating restaurants at MGM and still get the Fantasmic package that allows for reserved seating? :Pinkbounc

Yes you can! We did it for our August trip but remeber the menu is still limited.

Yep! I booked the Fantasmic package for the Hollywood Brown Derby for September where the menu is not limited.

As far as I know, Mama Melrose is the only one that limits the menu (H&V is a buffet, HBD doesn't limit).

Have fun!

I just called today5/14 to try the brown derby for sept and get the fantasmic dinner package and could NOT get the day we wanted- all booked up.

I booked Mama Melrose about 2 months ago for our July trip; we're using the DDP. Just be ready to give a credit card # when you book. Even with the DDP, you have to do that, and if you no-show without giving 48 hours notice, they'll charge you $10 per person. If you go and use the DDP, your credit card is not charged, however.

Thanks so much. Now all I have to do is decide which restaurant. Any suggestions? Which is everyone's favorite of these? I think BD requires two TS credits, doesn't it?

I really liked Mama Melrose when we went but we weren't doing the Fantasmic Package so we never tried the limited menu they offer. I've heard the food is "good" and that it's not all that limited- there's something for everyone. Since we tried it before, we cut this one from the list. And you can get Italian food anywhere- it wasn't much of an "experience" for us although the food was very good.

H&V has gotten so-so reviews lately so we avoided that one. We're doing three buffets on our trip already (Boma, Crystal Palace and Cape May) so we weren't really considering H&V that much anyway.

Hollywood Brown Derby is supposed to have wonderful food and we are very excited about trying this one- yes it is 2 TS but we're staying 7 nights 6 days on the dining plan so we had an extra TS leftover anyway. After the great reviews it seems like it is worth it to us. :teeth:

We did a Fantasmic Dinner Package at the Hollywood and Vine 3 weeks ago. It was the worst meal experience of our trip. It was crowded, noisy and dirty. The food was not good. The only good things on the buffet were the salads and the mashed potatoes. The "Carving Station" was Flank Steak and that tasted funny. I would not return.
Mama Melrose was booked when we made our reservations at (then) 90 days out. We tried to get into Brown Derby while we were there but they were completly booked.
I would look at the other 2, but I would not do H & V again.
