I'm trying to plan our first trip ever to CA and Disneyland.

I think we'll do two nights at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and then the rest of the week elsewhere checking out LA...Hollywood etc...

Can I finally book April 2005 over the phone... I can't online?

Should I book a package thru Disneyland or AAA?

Should I do everything separate or a package?

Should I book now or wait? Prices are probably high now, right? SHould I buy one AP to get room discount?

I'm so confused.

Should I fly to LAX or Long Beach? Should I book airfare now or much closer? Usually I book WDW airfare far in advance, ASAP.

I normally do not do packages but I read on another thread about AAA and early entry at Fantasyland...

Any advice, help and tips on this trip would be GREATLY appreciated.

Answer: I would recommend AAA since you get unlimited fastpass (especially if you like to ride the rides)

Answer: If you want to book through AAA, you must book a package. Otherwise, I would research and compare the separate items to the package.

Answer: You can't get unlimited fastpass if you have an AP. Given that April might not be too busy (before the beginning of the 50th anniversary), you can probably wait for AP rates if you aren't interested in AAA.

Answer: I prefer to fly into the John Wayne Orange County airport (SNA) since it is closer than LAX and not so hectic. You might also want to wait for Southwest fares to come out. They are cheaper...sometimes.

If you buy a park Hopper through AAA do you get unlimited fastpasses? Or is it a package that you have to book to get unlimited fastpasses?

Out of the two, definitely Long Beach. It's so much closer and less hectic. Although I also prefer John Wayne out of all of them.

lkohawaii - You have to book a package with them and stay at a Disney resort.

Thanks....a package is running me a lot more right now than me booking on my own...so I guess I'll have to do without the unlimited fastpass.
