Can I be dropped off at MGM without my ride having to pay for parking? (m)

I can't remember if you can just drive up to the gate. Also, what is the best/quickest way to get from MGM to Epcot when I'm ready to join my group? I'm thinking of being dropped at MGM in the morning so I can do a few of my must-do rides, then joining my group at Epcot in time for F & W (we're going in mid-Oct). I've done Future World already, and I'd rather skip it this time and do the couple of things at MGM that I've never done!

I don't know about being dropped off, but I do know about getting form MGM to Epcot

Take the boat. It will pick you up at MGM outside the front gate (as exiting you go to your left I believe) and it drops off at the Epcot gate in WS

I don't know about your question, but I have a question of my own:

I noticed from your taglines that you stayed at the Holiday Inn East Main Gate in 1998. How was it there? What kind of room did you have? Breakfast ok? How far from the parks?

You can drop off without paying. Indicate to the CM at the gate you're dropping off and they'll direct you to the taxi area where you can drop off. Alternately, you can be dropped off at Disney's Boardwalk Resort and take the walking path to the Studios (10 minute walk or so).

Kidd-freeper ... I don't remember that much about the hotel. I didn't really have any complaints as far as I recall, though. The pool was nice. This was years ago too, mind you - a lot might have changed! We took the shuttles to the parks, and it was fairly close. Breakfast was fine too. I've never stayed onsite, so I cannot compare it to that experience.

also since your group will be parking at Epcot anyway, they could pay to park at MGM, and use the parking pass to get into the lot at Epcot.
