I use the disboards for other things and started checking out this forum recently since my sister is getting married soon (not a disney wedding- on the Outer Banks). But, I have had so much fun with your weddings :) I have started dropping hints to my 9 year old about how cool it would be to get married at Disney - ack! LOL

I have a couple of questions and I am hoping you don't mind helping out!

1) I have spent a fortune (way over budget) on dresses (and shoes and undergarments and hair dos .....) for me and my girls for the wedding. My 6 yr old is a flower girl, my almost 10 yr old is a jr bridesmaid and I am the matron of honor. I am hoping to go to Disney this fall so want to stop the bleeding :) Do you have any suggestions on a gift they can give my sister for a wedding gift - something special from her nieces on her special day? What about a really special (unique/memorable) gift sister to sister? I don't want to get her a few towels off her registry, I want to get her something she will remember!

2) Length of dress question. My sister is having a traditional wedding gown. The flower girl dresses and the bridesmaid dresses are cocktail/tea length. The jr bridesmaid dress is floor length. My sister is worried that is too long and the photos will look bad because of all the different lengths. I don't think the 2 bridesmaid dresses will be identical but in the same ballpark. The dress is the same color as the bridesmaid dress but different on top (strapless for bridesmaid, sleeveless for jr bridesmaid). And, the bridesmaids and flower girls are a bit "poofier" than the jr bridesmaid dress. Should the jr bridesmaid be altered to match the bridesmaid (cut and add a layer of "poof")? Does anyone have photos of bridesmaid/jr bridesmaid with different lengths and/or same lengths that we could look at to get some ideas? It is a hard topic to google : )

Thanks for any help. She called me 7 (yes SEVEN) times in 2 hours today stressing about everything. She lives 3 hours from the nearest mall so has to really think and plan!

How about finding someone local who either owns a small shop or does custom work? Something unique and crafty can be much more personal! If you don't know of anyone around check etsy.com . Handmade jewelry or accessories can be found fairly inexpensively. I'm making my gifts for the bms and we've bought handmade top hats for the gms (vintage wedding).
And the skirt lengths shouldn't be an issue at all. I pay attention to that in theatre, but in normal life, we don't stare at people from ankle height. Remember that everyone has different leg length too, it's not a group of Rockettes with one oddball long skirt!

Hi there and good luck with your MOH duties! You will have a great time.

I did not get married at Disney but my DH and I did "Disneymoon" and it was the best. For that matter alot of my planning and ideas did come from reading DIS because the community is wonderful here and so helpful!

For a gift for your sister maybe think about giving them her toasting flutes or a personalized cake cutter. Another thing that I told my husband that I was going to give at any bridal shower is an engraved fork. It is nice to have for when you are feeding eachother your cake:lovestruc !

As for dresses my bridesmades and MOH all wore full length dresses however my MOH had a different design. My DSD who was my jr bridesmaid had a full length dress with straps. For asthetics I would have hers altered to match if you could.

Here's a picture at my parent's house before we left.

A great gift to do is to use a movie editing program that is on most computers on. On Macs its called I-movie and other computers i forget what it is called but if you have a newer version of windows you shoudl have it. They are really easy to use. You can scan in still pictures or add in digital picture of them through out their relationship. It will be like a slide show. You can set it to a great song and it will be very moving. Surprise her and play it for everyone at the wedding. Or you could just make one of you two growing up you. I did this for my mom for mothers day using pics of me and my brothers growing up she cried and bragged to everyone about her great present. Its free and something she will keep forever. If you have anymore questions about this let me know I love making these I made one for my dad for his 50th birthday to.
