Can I add someone to package at check in?

For reasons far to complicated to go into here I will not know if a party to the trip will be coming until the day we leave. His plane ticket has been bought so we will be out that if he can't come but can I add him onto the package at check in? Currently it is just me and my DD, age 7, so I know there is no additional charge for the room because he would be the 2nd adult. Is it a problem to add him onto the tickets and dining plan then? Also, we are using ME, will there be a problem then? Thanks guys!

I think he has to be registered for the meal plan before you arrive. JP

I was told that you have to be set up on the dining plan at least 3 days before arrival. But I am not sure if that applies in your situation. I would call if it were me and (anonymously of course!) ask.

You cannot add them to dining or to the package. They can be added to the room and will have to buy seperate tickets

I also don't think he'd be eligible to use DME. His name wouldn't be on the voucher that you get about a month before your trip. The bus drivers scan the bar codes below each person's name on those vouchers before they let you on the bus.

don't know which package you have- but i tried adding my bil to just our room as we booked 2 rooms and he was going to be in the area for 1 day and one night. i was told since we booked the 4/3 deal he could not stay with us as he would have had to book the 4/3 deal too.ie: no resort ticket for him= no EMH and no room card and no Disney Magical Express.
luckily he had points to stay for free at a hotel off Disney and we will still be able to see him.

You really need to call Disney and doublecheck but if your situation is the same as ours with the package deal they won't do it.

It has to be done in advance. 72 hours, I believe. The only thing you might be able to do is add him to the ressie now and ask about removing him from it later. However, even with that scenario you will be out some money. I'm just not sure if the change fee, $50, or cancel fee, $200, would apply. Either way you can't do it on arrival day.

What you need to do is call and ask. If you get a CM that is not helpful, hang up and call back.

If you add him now and need to remove him later (within 45 days from travel) there will be a $50 change fee
