Can I add someone to a resort package reservation and NOT buy them a ticket?

Here's the situation: My daughter has two days left from a non-expiring ticket. Can I book a room/ticket package for DH, me, and DS and add her as a guest but not buy tickets?

We want to take advantage of Extended Evening Hours since we're staying at a resort, and I think she will need to be a registered guest for that.

The only way to keep her off the package, which would require her to buy the same tickets as the rest of the group, is to register her upon check-in. Everyone staying in the room needs to be registered and you are correct she would need to be to be allowed on rides on extended hours. Keep in mind of the extra adult charge if she is over 18 that you will need to pay.

On the other hand you could book a room only reservation with four registered guests and buy your tickets for the three of you separately and link them to MDE along with your daughter's ticket.

Thank you! I’ll add her at check in. You don’t think there will be a problem? I tried to add her by modifying the reservation, and our resort wouldn’t show up (standard view at WL) with the discount code. I don’t want to lose the discount just to add her.

She’s 15 and will be the fourth person in the room, so we’re good with occupancy and under 18.

You will not have any difficulties at check in. Your discount was probably sold out and any modifications to a package is like starting over again with new pricing. Make sure her ticket is linked in order to make her park reservations and you are good to go. Enjoy!

Did it many times during Free Dining especially. Very easy to do at check in or even another day if they arrive after you - that is more an advantage if they are an extra adult fee.

I saw this thread and have a similar situation; my husband and I have the dining promo for upcoming 13 night stay but daughter is coming last minute for 3 nights. I don’t want to lose the promo as it’d be cheaper to get her a separate room. Was curious if you were successful in adding your daughter at check in? Especially as I’ve read posts they’ve been tightening up on it.

Hello. I would like to know how this ended because I have the same problem. I am traveling in a few weeks and I am worried. Thank you.

Not at Disney, but I have never had an issue adding my adult daughter to my Universal hotel reservation, at check in, when I was alone, so no extra charge for her. They gave me her room key, with mine, even though she was no coming for several days after check in, and staying less nights as me. She when she did come, she got the same extras that stay gave me, at the parks.

Most hotels will have no issue with you adding a person, at check in, as long as the number of people don’t exceed the number allowed in that room. And most, do charge for an adult, after 2 adults in the room. I think Marriott did not charge me, when my two adults kids stayed in a room for 4, with me. That is the only time, ever, I think I didn't get the extra adult charge.
