Can I add DDP at check-in?

I hope this is the right place to ask this question...

I let the travel agency we use at work book my MYW package, but the woman who booked it left and the new Disney person is a few green army men short of a full bucket, I think.

Our package with room and MYW passes is paid for...but can I add DDP when we check in at Beach Club? My TA says that we can add it in advance, but only up until 10 days prior, at which point we can't add anything. That doesn't seem right to me at all. I'm guessing that's a commission-driven answer and that we can add dining at check-in. Right?

You would think that Disney would be happy to take your money at any time, but for some reason I think you need to give them at least 3 days notice for the dining plan. Maybe something to do with having the vouchers available? I'm sure someone here knows for sure though.

My understanding is that DDP must be added at least 3 full days prior to your check-in day.. which is really 4 days when you think about.

I'd tell the TA to add it ASAP... but that's me. My travel needs may not be the same as yours.

No you can't add it at check in. I agree with the others to call and add it now.

The only time it's added at check in is by DVC members using points, but they also have to request the DDP on their ressie- the difference really is it's paid for upon resort arrival vs. in advance. Do call if you want it- your t/a is giving you the correct answer.---Kathy

The 10 days prior must be their policy.
As everyone has stated DDP cannot be added on at check in. (Due to it being part of a WDTC package.)

I saw a couple having this same discussion with the concierge desk at GF on Thanksgiving day. They were doing a Land/Sea package booked with a TA and were insisting they were told they could add the DDP at check in, and the CM kept telling them no. They also had no park tickets and were confused with all the options.

Since you already have a pkg and want to add the dining plan, I'd ask for your TA's supervisor or manager and have them add it asap!

If they had a land/sea package they would have had tickets with that package.

I have no idea, since I have never looked into that package, but these people were standing right next to me while I got my boarding passes printed out. The CM had the whole chart out for them as the couple went back and forth over whether or not they needed they need no expiration, and kept insisting to the CM that they were told they could add DDP at check in.

I agree with the others, it has to be added ahead of time, and I would add it.
I was also told that with the land and sea packages you CNNOT have the dining plan. Now that was several motnhs ago,so maybe things have changed, but I don't think that couple had a chance to ever get it.

Disney policy is that it MUST be added in advance if you wish to purchase the dining plan, and it can be added up to 3 days prior to arrival. Inside of 3 days you cannot add the dining plan (as the reservation downloads to the hotel about that time)
The 10 day policy must be that of your travel agency.
Do not wait to try to add it at check in or you will be disappointed since it cannot be done.

Thanks for the replies. I'm surprised to see the TA actually got one at least partially right. I did email the agency owner (he's who I usually deal with) and asked if the 10 days prior thing was a new policy and he said no, he had no idea why she would say that unless she was just being cautious about getting paperwork in hand.

Oh well, 14 days to go!!
