Can I access EMH the morning BEFORE we spend our first night in our resort?

We are staying off site on the 7th. Our first night in the resort is the 8th. Can we utilize Early Morning Hour on the morning of the 8th? If so, how do we activate our magic bands for early entry?

yes. If you do online check in they should be active.

You don't need to activate your MBs.
They will already be activated when they arrive.

What you actually mean is "activate your TICKETS."
And, yes, as @chicagoshannon said, if you use on-line check-in, your tickets will automatically be activated
on the first day of your WDW resort stay.
