Can guests staying with me in my room get free valet parking?

We have a "family reunion" trip planned for Jan. 2005. My brother in law will be running in the Disney Marathon. We have 8 (7 adults and 1 child) staying in a 2 BR at VWL. We are all arriving on the same day but different times. We are all driving.

First to arrive will be me, my husband, my brother and my mother, all in one car. The next car, probably arriving an hour or so later, will be my sister, brother in law and nephew. The last car, arriving a few hours later, will be my other sister. So we will have 3 cars total.

Do my sisters (the other 2 cars) get free valet parking, too?

? I have the same question. We will have 3 cars in April/May.

Well this can become a 5 in a studio debate.

DVC states it's "Members" don't pay for the valet parking nothing about family and friends in the room. So I would have to think just you as the member would not have to pay.

Guests of members get the same perks as members.

Yes, all they need is there resort ID that says 'member'.

I just can't see cramming eight people in a two bedroom unit. There simply isn't enough room.

Hi,

I was on the phone last week with MS to confirm our upcoming trip to Disney. Our friends will be arriving on Sunday a day after us and I asked if they get to use the "Free" valet Parking during their stay. I was told "No" - only DVC members are entitled to this perk. Maybe someone has a better answer for us because I really don't think this is fair to our guests. IMHO of course...

Well I went and looked again at the member perks. Alot of them say "Members and there Guests" but the valet parking states that "Members" get free valet. Now I see someone asked MS as well. And the answer was no for the non-member.

Wow, I never saw that, I wonder if they began differentiating perks early on or if this is more recent.

I don't even bring my DVC card, I have always used my resort ID to get any perks. I think this is the second or third perk that this matters for. I guess I am going to have to start bringing my DVC card.

I have used my resort ID or maybe it was my parking pass in the window, but I have never paid for valet parking at BWV and neither have I paid for valet parking at the GF either.

I think the parking pass has something to do with it.

Technically, it is only for members. In all three cases where we used the perk, the valet people asked for the member card but they weren't pushy about it when people didn't have it. We have always been requested and have shown our member card.

We're the members - MIL has the car. Im hoping to be able to use the valet serv even tho shes not a member.

If you are in the car there should be no problem, just show your ID, if asked. If you are not in the car, the answer seems to have been provided.

If everyones name is on the reservation and MS knows there will be 3 cars, when you arrive and check in at the security gate, each of you should get a printed parking pass, that says "MEMBER" it is different than the one that WL guest get. With that in the window, I have never been asked for any ID.

When my inlaws were with us in July at VWL and BCV, they received the free valet parking as well. I don't know if that is because we were with them at the time or because their parking pass said "member", but no one asked for our membership card at either place.

Does anyone know if as a renter of points we'd get free valet for the length of our stay? Where are the passes distributed?
A couple of other questions:
We're staying at VWL where do we check in?
Our flight arrives mid-morning, any suggestions about check-in? We have 7 persons total Me,DW, DD5,DD4,DD1.5, Niece and MIL.

the WL check in for the WL and VWL

Where are the passes distributed

park passes? at check in

as a renter of points we'd get free valet for the length of our stay?

that question is still being debated

suggestions about check-in?

go to WL and check in if your room is not ready the cm will give you a parking pass for your car and a card with the resort phone # to call later to check if your room is ready, give the bellhop your luggage and they will store the luggage until your room is ready,
if for any reason you need to get something out of your luggage while the luggage is in storage, just ask the bellhop and show them your luggage tickets.
enjoy!

Regarding the comment about not taking the DVC card. We're staying at BCV in May and our son and DIL will be with us. I asked if DS and DIL will be able to get the DVC discounts on meals, etc. I was told that DH or I would have to be with them because the DVC card would be needed to get the discount.

We'll be in one car so I didn't ask about valet parking. It may be one of those cases where some CMs will allow it and some will not so you shouldn't count on it.

I was concerned about DS and DIL purchasing items (food, souvenirs, etc) on room cards and was told that they can have a different credit card tied to their room cards so it won't go on our credit card. That will make things easier.

I've rented points twice before becoming a member. It was my understanding that the perks were for members and their guests. As I guest I was given the packet of perks when I checked in. I told the CM that I wasn't a member (this was at BCV) and she said guests get the packet too. I had free valet parking and even got a discount when we had lunch at Downtown Disney. I don't know if that was incorrect of me or not. I just went by what the CM had said.
As far as parking, the CM asks how many parking passes you need so I guess you would just ask for 3. It seems that the answer differs with each person you ask (CM and MS). Go with the idea that you will have to pay then you'll be pleasantly surprised when you don't!:)

Renting doesn't make you a guest of the member. A gift of points makes you a guest. No cash transfer between the two people.
