I am traveling in November for the first time (!) and want to stay in a villa by renting points. If I do this, can I still purchase the Disney dining plan? I understand that you can only purchase this dining plan if you book as a package but that DVC owners can purchase this at any time. Does anyone have any info on this???

Yes you can purchase the dining plan but you need to have the owner call member services and add it to the reservation. It has to be added in advance, not at check in. You pay for it at check in. We did this last year

Ditto what jamounger said. We are renting points for SSR and we had the owner add our meal plan last week!!

You understand the DVC DDP correctly. We can get it for any stay at a DVC resort on points, without the requirement of buying park tickets. All of the other requirements (everyone in the room has to get it, for each night of your stay, etc.) are the same.

As noted above, it can only be added to a DVC ressie by DVC MS, so that means that the owner you rent from will have to set it up for you. You pay for DDP at checkin, not through the owner.

I have a question, is the DDP $35 per day for DVC owners?

I have not done the DDP with DVC before, always used the DDE card,

thanks :)

No, it's the same as through Disney Travel $38.99/$10.99.
