Can DVC points be used at Any Disney resort? Does this make a difference if you purchased the contract direct or resale? If all resorts are available for point use, is there a point chart?

Any Disney resort - No
Only DVC resorts and those in the Disney Collection.

DVC points can only be used to book DVC resorts and those resorts that are part of the Disney Collection (currently all WDW resorts except All Stars and Pop century plus Paradise Pier, Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian at Disneyland California).

You cannot use points for Disney collection if you purchased resale after March 2011.

Point charts are on the DVC member site under Disney Collection.

As stated before you can use all DVC points at all DVC resorts.

The resort you get your points allows you to book 11 months in advance. Other DVC resorts are 7 months in advance. Depending on when you go and where you want to stay it can make a big difference in availability

There are a ton of resorts points can be used but in reality they have the most value when booking at a DVC resort n

Also, you can't use the Disney Collection if you buy resale.

Unless you buy resale through Disney and even then you can only buy resale as an add on.

disney is the timeshare developer, so any purchase through disney is a "developer" or "direct" purchase, not a "resale" purchase.

resale purchasers can use their DVC pts for DVC resorts (including hawaii, hilton head, vero beach and anaheim) and also for other timeshares through RCI (a timeshare exchange company).

direct purchasers can trade for disney cruises, hotels and adventures by disney (but there are extra fees and the point costs can be pretty high). here is a link to the 2014 point charts for the disney collection for reference:
