Can DVC Members purchase DDP on a cash stay?

We are spending the first three nights of our August trip at the CR on a cash ressie. We are going before free dining. I was wondering if we can purchase the DDP even though we arent staying on points?

I asked and was told "no". We have reservations on points at BWV for our first two nights and reservations there also for our last three nights. However, we were unable to secure reservations for the three nights in the middle. we are currently waitlisted. I was told that we could purchase the meal plan for the first two and last three nights, but we would not be able to do that for our cash reservation in the middle unless we wanted to buy a package with tickets for everyone for those three nights.

I don't know the answer to your question. I'm new to DVC. But your question got me thinking. I have a reservation for 7 nights in a SSR studio for October. The problem is that one of the nights in the middle is a cash ressie because they did not have "points" studios available for that night. When I booked they asked me if I wanted the Dining Plan, and I said yes. But my reservation is in the system as two reservations (with my cash ressie not showing up). Does this mean that I will only have the Dining Plan for the first 5 nights, then for the last night, but not the 6th night which is a cash ressie? Can anyone out there answer this question???

We are booked on points our first night and cash the following 2 at AKV (Aug 23-26). We have added Deluxe DP without a problem. I'd call back for those who were told "NO".

Yes you can. Any booked cash reservations can have the DDP added to them. Any booked DVC reservations can also have the DDP added to them.

Unfortunately, the person who told you "no" was waitlisted for 3 nights. That is a different situation.

Yes you can. Any booked cash reservations can have the DDP added to them. Any booked DVC reservations can also have the DDP added to them.

The DDP is available thru MS for stays at DVC Resorts. Since this stay is using cash at CR it is not available unless the package, including admission tickets, is purchased thru CRO.

Are you by chance AP holders? If you did/or can reserve the room with AP rates you could add DDP without a ticket purchase.

We are planning on purchasing PAPs through the DVC discount. Will that allow us to add the DDP to our cash reservation?

We did not book the CR through MS, we went direct through CRO and used our AAA discount.

Think I can throw a few more acronyms in here???
