Can discount child ticket from UT be upgraded to adult ticket at the gate?

I bought our family's Universal 2-park tickets last year (the ones that don't expire until 13 days after first use) from Undercover Tourist before a price hike to lock in prices. We didn't plan to go for a few more years. At the time I didn't even think about the child-reaching-adult-age-for-ticket issue; now I need to know my options. I've looked online and found folks say that their Universal-direct purchased tickets could be upgraded for the price difference at the gate. But I can't find anything that indicates Universal will allow upgrade of discounted tickets bought from a broker like UT. I tried posting a question on UT's blog but they haven't approved it (or maybe they won't approve it). Does anyone here have experience with this issue?

suggest you send an email to guest services at UO and ask them.
include your phone number in case they would prefer to call you rather than email you back.

guest services would be the place people go to when they upgrade or have issues with their tickets.

We upgraded tickets from UT in September at Guest Services. No issues whatsoever.

Thanks for the replies. I will check with GS before going for sure. I just wanted to see if there are folks with actual experience here as well.

damo: for purposes of determining the price difference, did Universal honor the price you paid UT or the official child price on the date of original purchase?

It seemed to us that they gave us gate value for the ticket and then we paid the difference in gate value of the new ticket.
