Can DD miss just announced National Honor Society meeting?

We have no one else to ask. The student pres. Saturday sent out a message by text. Noon meeting if u can not make it, it is OK. I took that off work and got six flags tickets for all of us. DD now wants to skip going to six flags. I can not trade to a different day off. DD has officer training my next day off. And then she has a week at U of I my next week off. We would need to go in august if she can. I can not get money back for the tickets. Would u think it ok for her to skip the meeting. We live 2.5 hr from the park.
DD missed the first meeting, when they picked officers. This would be the second meeting.
