Can DCV points be used at the Caribbean Resort or others?

The points pamphlet I have doesn't list the points required to stay at the Caribbean resort, the Cabins at Fort Wilderness, Coronado Springs, or the Polynesian. Can points be used at those resorts? If yes, how do I find the amount of points required to stay in those locations?

hi, the current point requirements for the Disney Collection can be found on the members services website, they vary for the different resorts and times of year, etc. :flower3:

You can use your points to stay in non-DVC resorts but once you see what the values are you may not want too. ;) In my opinion it's not worth it with what they want for a night regardless of the season.

And isn't there the $95 transaction fee to book one of those resorts (non-DVC). Between the points and the fee, so not worth it.

So, it's not cheaper than staying at a DVC resort? Just making sure.

I don't have access to that I don't think since I'm not a member. I just have a booklet that we got from a presentation on our last visit, but the non DVC resorts are not listed. I'll be renting points.

I don't think you'll want to rent points to stay at a non DVC resort. It's not cost effective.

if you are renting points, the DVC resorts are the point/cost effective way to go for sure! you will get a kitchen and washer dryer or use of one if you book the deluxe studio. this site has square footage info on frequently asked threads and pictures. many people find OKW is great for space and point value! have fun! :wizard:

We would want to be staying at Bay Lake or Animal Kingdom. Do all the DVC resorts have 'deluxe' studios? I haven't come across that in any of my pamphlets. Just studios, then the one, two, or three bedroom. We'd be looking at a studio for sure.

Studios are now "deluxe studios." DVC changed the name but the rooms are the same. As others have said, you don't want to rent points to stay at a non DVC resort. The point values are way higher and you have to pay the $95 fee for going outside a DVC property. If you want a non DVC resort you're better off going thru CRO and looking an for a discount.

if you are going to rent the points you might as well stay at the best resort possible. it is not worth renting points to stay at a moderate resort. you will enjoy all the extras at the deluxe resorts so much more.

Actually, all studios EXCEPT the Value Studios at AKL are now called Deluxe Studios.

But as was said before, it's only a name change, probably to enforce the point that DVC resorts are deluxe.
