Can children order off adult menu on Deluxe dining plan?

I know the changes to the dining plan state that all credits are pooled together on the deluxe dining plan. However, are servers up to date on this? We are going in August and I am considering the plan if my children are allowed to order from the adult menu. Thanks.

Nobody knows this for sure. Deluxe credits have always been pooled, and were prior to the changes. All we have right now is that CMs have apparently been instructed that they no longer have to "police" whether or not children order from children's menus regarding deluxe or quick service credits. Whether that mean your children will be able to order adult meals everywhere they go is still up in the air.

To be clear, the just-released 2016 brochure still says that children must order from the children's menu. Some blogs might say otherwise, but Disney's stance hasn't seemed to change.

Done the deluxe plan twice (2013 & 2014) and both times our kids had to order off the kids menu.

Either the restaurant uses place mats for the kids which have their menu on there or there is a separate kid's section on the regular menu. And a lot of times the servers will actually point out before ordering that the kids have the following choices etc etc.

The kids menu also generally has it's own options for appetizers and desserts and kids need to pick from those and not from things on the regular menu.

The consensus seems to be that while the credits are pooled, and while most restaurants are not counting who is ordering and matching the number of orders to the number of adults on the plan, kids are still supposed to order from the children s menu. Yin could pay OOP for the children if that makes sense to you, but the bottom line is that until we get more actual experiences reported, we do not know.

When we had the Deluxe plan for our Wedding Trip and DD was still a child, she ordered from the kids menu, but the options were enhanced - at Flying Fish, she had steak skewers which were not on the menu.
