We're flying Air Canada out of Toronto and want to use Magical Express. Can we use the luggage tags and check our bags through to our resort, or do we need to pick up our bags to clear customs in Orlando??
Going to Disney, the current recommendation is to check baggage without the yellow ME tags, claim your baggage manually at Orlando, go through customs, and then bring your bags to the Magical Express welcoming area on the lower level, A side. It is possible that at Orlando at any point you may be told to attach the yellow tags and hand over the baggage to a ME host for automatic delivery to the resort.
If your flight schedule has you go through customs at a different airport along the way you may attach the ME tags there when you recheck the baggage for the connecting flight to Orlando and automatic delivery.
You're flying directly into Orlando then from YYZ? Then yeah I guess you'd have to check your bags if it's your first entry point into the US. We're flying out of YHZ, but we enter the US in Newark - so I'm working on the assumption that since I clear Customs there, I won't have to pick up my bags at MCO.
Hm. I wonder if they'll know on the Magical Express line - I'm 39 days out and I should call soon to confirm everything anyway.
At YYZ you clear US customs in the airport before you get on your flight.
You check in for your flight, then they give your tagged bags, and your walk behind the check in area to the US immigration and customs area. There you line up, talk to an American in a semi-cool uniform, answer some questions then head over to the bag scanner. Then you go to your gate.
Sometime after you answer questions and the bag scanner, you can put on your disney tags.
