Can anyone tell me when there might be openings for Mexican Riviera out of San Diego 2019?

I just came back from my first Disney cruise on March 8th. I flew to Miami. Since I'm from California, I want something close to home. I booked a placeholder onboard and now I'm waiting for openings. Does anyone know from past experience when they might open?

We did the Panama Canal cruise...only had to fly one way and it was AWESOME! We walked home from the port (in the rain!)

If you want to use your placeholder for it, you'll likely want Fall 2018 as the Wonder usually isn't on the west coast until late April which would be too late for your placeholder for 2019. The Fall/Winter 2018 schedule will probably open up by the end of May.

My TA told me that DCL had significantly reduced their sailings to Mexico the last few years because of political unrest. I thought that was nuts since we practically live on the border and everyone I know goes back and forth constantly for vacations, shopping etc and it's not like it's Syria there. They've recently started going back, but have excluded one of their port stops.

So, short answer, it depends on how things go in Mexico and if DCL feels safe sailing there. It is good to know how careful they are about their guests safety.

You're right , I have to sail before March 2019 to keep my placeholder. Maybe I can cross my fingers for October 2018. Oh I hope DCL brings the 7 night back!! It's too soon for us to jump on the 7 night that's scheduled for this Sept/Oct sailings
