Can anyone recommend the HOHO bus/trolley in Vancouver? Courtesy Capilano shuttle?

So I have heard that during the summer months (when all of us cruisers descend on Vancouver ) the HOHO bus and/or trolley is much slower and unpredictable due to the crowds? Does anyone who has used them in the past have an opinion? Same with the courtesy Capilano shuttle....how is it?

We wanted to do the HOHO but it was insanely expensive per person so we ended up exploring on our own instead.

We used the Capilano shuttle and were pleasantly surprised. Minimal waiting. If I recall correctly, it was free(!) and it dropped us off and picked us up right at the entrance, while chartered bus passengers had a bit of a hike.

The Capilano (and Grouse) shuttles are free with your admission. The Capilano shuttle can have long waits during peak times. Capilano shuttle picks up just outside the cruise terminal and select hotels.

I was just on the shuttle last weekend. If you get back from Capilano early.... you can ask the driver to let you off outside Stanley Park entrance. Otherwise, the Westin drop off outside White Spot will be four blocks further.

A few years ago we waited 4 x HOHO about an hour before we could get onto one. They were full and could not accommodate the 4 of our family having got off at the aquarium. I would not do HOHO again.

We used a HoHo trolley in Vancouver last September before our Hawaiian cruise. We had no issues with long waits, we got off for 3 major attractions including a meal in Stanley Park. We were picked up at our hotel in the morning, and got back around 6 in the evening.
